Shouldn't work. It really shouldn't. But it does. It kind of feels like SNKRX in that there's so much depth behind such a simple game (cooldowns, risk vs. reward, etc.) and it just comes together impeccably. Absolutely not going to be everyone's cup of tea as the controls could be a barrier for entry, though. The default controls have you covering most (if not all) of your screen, but pro-tip: Turn on Aim Assist and Touch...ehhhh...I can't remember what it was called in-game...basically relative touch...and yeah, you're good to go! Totally worth it, and yep...absolutely, absolutely nothing like it. Ijipop likes this. This game is more than great. Been playing it way too much today, having a wonderful time. Done about 8ish runs so far, can semi-consistently get to the midpoint-ish of the second area, and I am hooked. I love this control scheme and this gameplay. I don’t know. It just gets me. Right now I think this is my joint favourite mobile roguelite with SNKRX, having a lot of fun with this. I sorta wish that areas could be split up into 2-3 waves so that you could easily stop after 3 minutes instead having to dedicate 10. I haven’t played enough of the game to really judge it on replayability. After a week or two I’ll have many more runs and maybe even have beaten the game and I might be able to offer a better answer. However I have some small issues. I did live figuring things out on my own. But sometimes you need something. There are a few cards I have no clue what they do. The fully colored cards between turns dont seem to do anything other then the regular ones. And some I just can’t figure out what they do. Would love explanations on cards found or used. Also anyone here know how to unlock the checkpoints ? I have beaten the first boss a few times and made it to the second boss. But I still haven’t unlocked any checkpoints. Curious how those work. But still loving it. Can’t stop playing. Wonder how many card there are to discover. Would be cool to have a compendium. Hoping it continues to get love. Controls were hard at first but then become very easy to use. Loving the game. Just wish I knew some of the cards and how to get the checkpoints. Even with them I will probably start from one and try to go on one go. But I want to know what they are at least lol. aussiepaul likes this. I’m beginning to see more new cards show up that do some really cool things. To answer your question about the fully colored cards, they can be used during the cooldown period. The number on the bottom right of the cards is the damage they’ll do and the stopwatch in the upper left is how fast the projectile travels (not 100% on that, but pretty sure - if anyone else knows please share). Patience is the key to success, so take your time. As you know, time stops when you stop moving so take advantage of that by using the inspect feature (magnifying glass) and plan your path and attacks before you start moving again. In the shop, buying cards takes health away but you can fill it back up by selling unwanted cards. As far as the discard section (pool of water), I believe it’s just for storing away unwanted cards that can then be gathered next time you’re at the shop. I thought they might get stronger after sitting in the water for a while but haven’t noticed anything changing. It’s probably just there so you can make room for better cards, since you can only hold a total of seven at one time. Heck Deck has some serious staying power and much more depth than I originally thought. I’m constantly learning new things each time a play. If anyone has questions feel free to ask. I’ll do my best to answer them. @elcrazy - I also don’t know what the checkpoints are for or how to trigger them. BTW, if another gameplay video would be helpful I’ll be more than happy to make one now that I’m quite a bit better. Just let me know! I really hope this gets GotW but wouldn’t be surprised if something else takes the award since there are several great releases this week. vectorarchitekt likes this. elcrazy Well-Known Member Sep 19, 2017 707 562 93 #10 elcrazy, Jan 15, 2022 Ya I still can’t figure out how to trigger an checkpoint. But I did figure out the colors cards. They just don’t have any timer. They can be used instantly and no timer on them. It’s not how fast it travels just how long the timer is. The number on the top seems to be how long it takes till you can use your next card. So the color cards have a zero. Amazing game. Can’t stop playing. Still need to get better at it and more patient. Agreed on the water. It’s just to store cards for later runs. Pretty cool feature actually. Holds them there as long as you want across multiple games. For sure game of the week and an early game of the year contender. Anotherkellydown likes this.
