But it’s still a pretty good game. Hopefully it controls well on iOS. While the influence is obvious, I’m going to be that guy…I’m kinda over roguelikes, and have gotten enough mileage out of Dead Cells. To have a game inspired by Dead Dells, yet be a single player game with progress and a start and end…that sounds great to me. Just to add a question with others mentioning controllers, if this can use one what do you all recommend I look at controller wise? I’ve never bothered with one but honestly I was sooo much better at Dead Cells on the switch with a pro controller than I was on iOS with touch so maybe one would be a good idea. sharfaust Well-Known Member Jul 1, 2013 339 75 28 #15 sharfaust, Dec 17, 2021 It’s personal preference really. I have a Nimbus controller and an Xbox Series X controller and they both work great and are comfortable. The Nimbus is charged by a lightning cable which can be a bonus. A lot of people use a Backbone controller, but I don’t have experience with those. I game more on my iPad Pro. I wouldn’t get a really cheap controller, because you get what you pay for. In my opinion, the best options for iPad gaming are Nimbus, Xbox, or PS controllers. For iPhone, add any Backbone type to that iPad list. That’s my opinion anyway. The Backbone seemed slightly off but it might have been me. Some notes on the controls: The buttons are labeled 1,2,4,5 etc., where 1 and 2 are X and Y (Xbox style), and 4 and 5 are A and B. Spots where the game tells you to use the LB (left bumper) button is actually the right bumper. The trigger buttons are marked the correct way. I started over after only playing a little on iPhone and am thoroughly enjoying it. Using an awesome iPad stand with the controller makes me feel like I'm a serious gamer, regardless of what those iOS/mobile haters think JCho133 and sharfaust like this. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 999 113 #19 ste86uk, Dec 19, 2021 I only just got a chance to launch the game tonight and played only for 20 minutes. But when I quit to menu and opened the game to see if it had saved I’d lost probably half of my progress and many items that I’d found. When does the game save? How do you know it’s saved? Honestly on mobile I think it’s a big no no not to have manual saving or auto saving whenever the game is exited. You’ll know it’s saving by the spinning circle in the bottom left-hand corner. I’m sure it saves after levels too. I’ve put in about 3 hours and honestly, the save spots are well-placed, IMO. They’re frequent enough to allow for progression without making the game too easy. I hope you don’t get discouraged and give up on it. You’ll get the hang of it.
