I'm guessing this will be fine without a full controller, but that's a really nice plus. agreen437 Well-Known Member Jun 12, 2014 1,702 222 63 #4 agreen437, Dec 8, 2021 Just bought I’ll try tonight Numba One Well-Known Member Jun 14, 2012 47 10 8 #5 Numba One, Dec 8, 2021 Yes there is full controller support including button remapping. I've just tried on my Backbone only so I assume bluetooth also works. It is head scratching they add controller support for this but not Trials of Mana or any of the pixel remasters... zeroex Well-Known Member May 20, 2014 344 25 28 #6 zeroex, Dec 9, 2021 How are the touch controls on this? I only remember Secret of Mana on SNES. I’m really considering buying it even though I’ve just now really gotten into FANTASIAN. This game looks gorgeous, but that’s to be expected from SQEENIX. Anyone have any impressions? Is it totally different than the old version I remember? BlueTrin Well-Known Member Jun 21, 2012 376 51 28 #8 BlueTrin, Dec 11, 2021 I have not played this iOS version but both games have their fans. I would dare to say that Secret of Mana is the one that most people prefer but it is subjective (I prefer SoM myself). But I like as well Legend of Mana: it is much more divisive though. It has good storytelling, fairly unique mechanics with a non-linear game but the combat isn’t great. It’s hard to know if you’ll like it or not before to play it. I saw that it’s available on Switch as well so I may grab it on that platform. Brightsiderus Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2017 2,234 540 113 #10 Brightsiderus, Dec 11, 2021 Every Mana game is different in a way, but Legend of Mana always was my favorite game in a series. First, It captured me with music, which is good in every way, even in 1999 when I first played it. Then, a way of game exploration. Non linear: every location is sealed in an artifact, which you can unleash In the world map in any order you like. If you remember Egglia, you’ll understand what I meant. Next, combat. It was made in a beat’em up style with JRPG elements (at least it always looked to me like this). You fight, you use magic, you get coins, items and XP. You don’t fight alone. On some quests you get companions, and after Pumpkin event in Domina you can get two students to fight for you when you don’t get Company. And also there’s a Pet system, where you can catch and raise monsters which can come with you as a Third member of a group. Sadly, the PS1 trick where you could catch a yellow chocobo is not working now. The only problem I see is that Square Enix is too lazy and made only new backgrounds, but all characters are still pixel. Anotherkellydown likes this.
