Gorgeous pixel art, great music, well-written but allusive story (so far anyway). The first 5 or so puzzles are based on a simple platforming premise that gets progressively more complex and interesting. Seriously digging it! squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,715 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #4 squarezero, Dec 5, 2021 Okay — so I haven’t been able to stop playing this. Essentially, the game combines a puzzle platformer with a visual novel and nails both of them. The novel is has great characters, wonderful writing, and an intriguing and complex storyline. The puzzle platformer takes a few simple mechanics and combines and recombines them into fun confections that range from easy to satisfyingly challenging — and actually play a role in the story. The whole thing is highly polished with decent touch controls (haven’t checked to see about controller support). Steam reviews say that the game is highly emotional, and I can see how it will get there. Overall, I’m finding this to be a remarkable experience. Highly, highly recommended. Lull4by likes this. I thought it was in one of Shaun’s SwitchArcade articles but I couldn’t find it using TA’s search function. I did come across this written review that confirms what I heard before about the story taking a bad turn. Of course, this is going to be a very subjective thing and I don’t want to turn anyone away from the game. It is what kept me from downloading it though. I dunno. The story is great, but one thing is unsettling, but I won’t tell you anything about it Anotherkellydown likes this. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,715 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #7 squarezero, Dec 5, 2021 Just beat it, too. I can see why some people would have a problem with the ending. For me it worked — it just took the game in a more philosophical, self-referential direction. Anotherkellydown likes this.
