You check the radar, turn a few knobs, press some buttons… then you realize I don’t know how to move this hunk of metal... If the pursuing forces or the crushing atmosphere don't kill you first, the Nauticrawl - designed to be piloted only by the ruling elites - just might. This instrument, your only hope of survival, could also be your demise. With the right amount of experimentation your escape plan just might succeed. Pull levers, redirect power, hack devices, uncover communications, try anything and everything. You've heard the rumors. You know many have died doing what you're doing. But as the corners of the story pull back and you learn your way around the consoles, you just might get off this wretched rock. Nauticrawl unfolds through turn-based exploration, as you puzzle out how everything fits together. Begin each run anew, but bring with you what you’ve learned along the way. Think it through. Make mistakes and experiment. You can do this. Asp Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2017 769 196 43 #5 Asp, Sep 24, 2021 Unfortunately, no, to both of those. There is basic radar, and a text display screen to monitor what is happening outside. Possible to zoom in/out for a closer look, since it sounds like it's turn-based? There is a limited amount of zoom, but I’m thinking that using a smaller screen may be a bit marginal. But I can’t avoid accumulator charge draining. Asp Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2017 769 196 43 #9 Asp, Sep 28, 2021 Yes, it’s embarrassing how long it took me to understand the startup procedure, so thank you for pointing that out. All very easy now I’m an expert Nauticrawler driver and can scoot about the place. Best to turn off any systems that are not in use to reduce battery drain, so that ‘expected charge’ is showing a positive figure. It’s unavoidable in some situations, like trying to sneak past gun turrets while cloaked, so have a full charge beforehand. gmattergames Well-Known Member Mar 1, 2013 607 42 28 #10 gmattergames, Sep 29, 2021 Last edited: Sep 29, 2021 Creatively slick RL, great production values. Success heavily dependent on crawler operational knowledge to efficiently manage limited power and fuel supply. Never been a huge fan of RL’s that focus heavily on resource management vs tactical play and question why anyone would build a machine that can’t operate more than a few minutes without adequate supply. Regardless, the gameplay and theme is interesting enough and the presentation so good, Im enjoying the initial challenge of learning how to efficiently operate the crawler and progress further each run. And yes, definitely taxes battery and heats up device, hoping future releases address this. skoptic Well-Known Member Apr 3, 2015 634 82 28 #11 skoptic, Sep 29, 2021 You should throttle your cloaking, then Asp likes this. gmattergames Well-Known Member Mar 1, 2013 607 42 28 #12 gmattergames, Sep 29, 2021 Clarification:Heats up my iPad skoptic Well-Known Member Apr 3, 2015 634 82 28 #13 skoptic, Sep 29, 2021 My funny haha joke has fallen on stony ground Echoseven likes this.
