What are the touchscreen controls like FromLefcourt Active Member Mar 11, 2021 44 48 18 Male #5 FromLefcourt, Sep 7, 2021 Hey, it's me, the developer! Glad it looks fun! I think it is (biased of course). The touch controls are pretty simple. You control the angle of the gun by touching and dragging your finger side to side. With some guns you fire when you release, and with others, you fire constantly. There's also some animated tutorial clips inside the app to teach you all the finer points if you want them. If you pick it up, let me know what you think! Ijipop and Anotherkellydown like this. FromLefcourt Active Member Mar 11, 2021 44 48 18 Male #6 FromLefcourt, Sep 7, 2021 Thanks, that's the goal! But I don’t like those black clouds that shoot a ring of bullets around them. They get me almost every time. Need to practice more. It would be handy if there was a restart button near the bottom of the screen for ease of reach and quicker restarts. Would also be cool if you could shoot at sharper angles, allowing you to move more in a horizontal direction. High score is 1,302 after about 5 games. Looking forward to more challengers on the leaderboard! FromLefcourt likes this. FromLefcourt Active Member Mar 11, 2021 44 48 18 Male #8 FromLefcourt, Sep 7, 2021 Thanks for the feedback. I try to keep the action flowing from game over to restart, which is why no matter how high you fly, you never have to fall far. I'll see if I can incorporate a quick reset option in the next update to speed past those animations. As for the more horizontal shooting. I tried that in early tests, but I found out that if you could go perfectly horizontal the game was too easy. You could keep moving back and forth until you landed on what you wanted. Having to always go up just a bit means you have to be a bit more thoughtful with your shots (especially later on). You might accidentally overshoot, bounce on a cloud, and out of range of what you wanted. Nice scores, once you master the controls you'll soar. I look forward to seeing how high the scores get. Testers got pretty high, but I think there's a lot of room for improvement as players get more time with the game. Lastly, here's a pro-tip: Just keep moving past the clouds. Don't let them trick you into hesitating. They're actually pretty slow. Thanks again for the feedback, and your support! Anotherkellydown likes this. As far as the restart, it’s not that the after death animations take too long. I was referring to when you’re returned to the main menu the restart button is way at the top. If there was a button near the bottom I could reach it without having to stretch so far up. It’s not a really big deal at all, would just be more convenient if there was a button near the bottom. These newer phones are so tall! Thanks again for explaining the reason for the more vertical movement. Makes sense. Also, for the pro-tip on the clouds. Best of luck on your new release! FromLefcourt Active Member Mar 11, 2021 44 48 18 Male #15 FromLefcourt, Sep 7, 2021 Hey there! Dev here, and fair question. There's definitely some parallels. It's an endless platformer about getting as high up as possible. But it plays much differently. The core mechanic is aiming weaponry to launch yourself toward your targets. Each weapon has unique traits. Bouncing on clouds/platforms is possible, more akin to doodle jump, but you won't get far relying on that. Learning to master each weapon, and the hazards is much more important than in a doodle jump game. There are a number of other differences that are more subtle like you don't wrap around the screen left <-> right, and that plays into some other mechanics you can learn...etc. There are also 25 achievements to unlock if leaderboards aren't your jam (they're optional), and I have plans to add more content in the near future (but don't buy a game on potential future stuff, of course). Hope that helps! FromLefcourt Active Member Mar 11, 2021 44 48 18 Male #16 FromLefcourt, Sep 7, 2021 Thanks for the kind words.
