It’s definitely slick. Asp Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2017 769 196 43 #3 Asp, Aug 25, 2021 I can beat that, currently showing 6.92GB. Hardly surprising as It’s more HD movie than game so far, with a few taps during battle scenes. Fantastic work by what must be an army of artists and animators. I’ve little knowledge of the Marvel universe and not heard of most of the characters, but loving the sci-fi cityscapes and stirring orchestral soundtrack. There’s some freedom of movement, albeit limited. I picked a flying character, Dr Strange, as main, who provides a good view of the surroundings. Haven’t seen much gameplay yet - but likely just collecting and upgrading stuff. Will continue until it gets too grindy. Asp Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2017 769 196 43 #5 Asp, Aug 26, 2021 Definitely not Open World in the accepted sense but, reading the Future Revolution small print, it does say “MMO Regions”; and those regions are small. On the one hand it feels constricted, on the other there’s no trekking for miles to find people and items. Plus the regions have their own identity, like visiting separate towns. WJGaming Member Aug 5, 2021 6 5 3 Male #6 WJGaming, Aug 26, 2021 Played a couple hours now! Been pretty enjoyable, story quite good, even if the voice acting… isn’t the best, and also just doesn’t appear for the majority of conversation, or have there be any background noise in pre-rendered cutscenes. Just feels off. So far the gameplay has been fun (mainly been playing as Doctor Strange, but done the tutorial missions for my 4 characters: Doctor Strange, Spiderman, Iron Man, Captain Marvel) but I can see it get stale and/or pay-to-win, but probably not for the first few dozen hours when you hit a progress wall, when I feel I get there, I’ll either play Multiplayer or stop playing for ever, but if I get 20hrs or so of good free to play fun, I’ll be fine (will be annoying to miss out on story). I’ll keep you all posted with opinions every couple of play sessions or so. JasonLL likes this. It's one thing to show the path to follow to find the next objective. Quite another to automatically go there, start the dialog, finish the dialog, go to the next location, pick up the object, and go back to the original location without me needing to touch my phone. I can live with optional auto play as long as it’s not obstructive to the player wanting to play without. A good example of a game that really wants to play itself would be Lineage 2 on the AppStore. I found it more of a hassle to manually control Lineage than to just let it do its thing which in the end made me lose interest really quick. One of the big pluses in Marvel Future Revolution is the way they handle hands-on manual play. In most mobile MMO’s tapping on the quest window in the upper right corner will bring up the pathing arrows and automatically start making the character run towards the objective requiring the player to intervene to stop the auto play. In Future Revolution the devs finally separated those two actions. Tapping on the quest window will bring up the directional arrows on the ground pointing you towards the objective but doesn’t make the character auto-run towards the quest like in many other MMO’s made for mobile. No doubt it’s a small feature but a very welcome one. Asp likes this.
