What Remains of Edith Finch is a collection of strange tales about a family in Washington state. As Edith, you’ll explore the colossal Finch house, searching for stories as she explores her family history and tries to figure out why she's the last one in her family left alive. Each story you find lets you experience the life of a new family member on the day of their death, with stories ranging from the distant past to the present day. The gameplay and tone of the stories are as varied as the Finches themselves. The only constants are that each is played from a first-person perspective and that each story ends with that family member's death. Ultimately, it's a game about what it feels like to be humbled and astonished by the vast and unknowable world around us. No wonder it has 95% reviews from over 20.000 votes on steam. Sadly the game crashes after a few rooms at the same point again and again. When you climb though the hole in the pink bathroom the game crashes. Right at the moment when the saving sign should appear. Im playing on ipad air 3rd gen - so the game should work properly from the hardware site. Does anyone else experience this crashes? squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,715 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #3 squarezero, Aug 17, 2021 Haven’t ran into an that issue yet, but it’s worth pointing out that the iPad Third Gen has 1GB of RAM, which could be the problem. The game fully supports the Backbone One, BTW. Plays beautifully on an iPhone 12 Pro. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #4 metalcasket, Aug 17, 2021 Yeah, no problems on XS either till now. I must say, I’m a little shocked at how little fanfare this is getting around here. Edith Finch is like THE walking simulator to own! EDIT: Little silly that I have to say this, but just to clarify, I don’t mean that in a negative way. However, I don’t see the need to play through it again… ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #6 ste86uk, Aug 20, 2021 After seeing the price difference between switch and iOS for all the games it makes me want to try games that are so much cheaper on iOS than anywhere else. Although even after watching the video I’m not sure what kind of game this is which makes me think maybe it’s not my kind of thing? It looks something like Myst? metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #7 metalcasket, Aug 21, 2021 Think of it as a movie. It’s a walking simulator. Like, don’t expect point and click logic, or puzzles. It’s just about the experience itself. If you’ve played Dear Esther or Gone Home, you’ll know what to expect. squarezero and ste86uk like this. agreen437 Well-Known Member Jun 12, 2014 1,702 222 63 #8 agreen437, Sep 10, 2021 How are the touch controls on this one is this like life is strange in terms of controls?
