Hi all I’m really excited to announce that “Forbidden Proton" – is now on the iOS App Store. It has over 80 unique frenetic action puzzles inspired by early science fiction with a modern twist. The game is simple to play (jump left, jump up, jump right) and contains a series of intro levels to warm you up before the tougher puzzles come along and then you proceed through each new section to the unlock the next stage. FEATURES - Over 80 puzzles - Different characters to play - No adverts or in-app purchases - Frenetic, challenging and fun action-based puzzles - Cool 2d retro sci-fi style graphics - Simple Arcade One-Touch Control - Real-time physics Story FORBIDDEN PROTON has been developed with over 80 unique frenetic action puzzles inspired by early science fiction with a modern twist. Welcome Recruit Delta-7 and congratulations on your promotion to the junior manager position of "Grand Lord and High Controller of All Things Unseen Hither and Yon". Your first assignment is operator of the quantum unification measurement device to observe exotic particles passing through a series of test systems. To isolate detectors from cosmic rays and other background radiation the system is built deep into the planet's core and tests pass through chambers that journey ever downwards. Your assignment starts with employee induction and testing on the system, and then you must proceed through each new section to the unlock the next stage. You direct the particles behaviour via high energy transmissions under your control. Be aware that the system has very limited self-protection in place; your job is to manage the operation and eliminate any rogue particles that may affect the results. We have noticed some unexpected particle bombardments recently and the previous operator was vaporised during a recent Quantum Mexican Standoff (QMS) event. But fear not, we have updated the training and testing process to better prepare you. Just remember the quantum measurement problem! Good luck... Trouble is I just cannot get past the first proper level. The ball pit section of Reactor is, for me, impassable. I must be missing a trick but I’m blind to it at the moment. Hopefully some other folks will jump on board and pass on some pointers. Great music by the way; and that’s from someone who very rarely wants music in games. Edit: Got past the ball pit; now I’m stuck on the next bit! (And that’s fine…. for now). There’s a fair bit of luck involved; not too much though. Great little game. MegaheadGames likes this. It's a tricky one for sure - well infuriating if I'm honest. I probably should have moved it out a bit later but the trouble with physics and so many balls is that sometimes the same level can go really easily due to chance. I've actually ended up falling through to the bottom of that level without doing anything - not been able to repeat it but it happens. My best tip for that one is as follows: I always try to go into the middle between the red balls to pull them closer together. Then aim to reduce some of the green balls to the left so both reds move leftwards. They have a bit of mind of their own though, so it doesn't always work and I get impatient and make a run for the exit too soon. Once they're on the leftwards side I reduce the balls on the right side as much as I can, it can cause the reds to move back, so it's a case of patiently juggling sides. You can probably make a run for it once there's 4 or 5 rows of greens above the exit. Jumping is key of course. I often hit a side wall and then do lots of mini jumps to move left and right to line myself up to where I want to drop into the pit. You'll find that some levels are easier than others across the game (if you persist - lol). I didn't design it to get harder and harder if that's any conciliation . Even though I'm biased, I think it's true that are a few really great levels that I still love to play. I didn't include them in the trailer video, so they'd be a treat for players. Some levels still take me a while to get through. Another tip for future levels is that the kind-of wall clinging it can do that I included in the training (testing) area is really useful at times. You can also sort of drag swipe the ball if you don't let go of it - sometimes useful. Good luck - happy to answer other questions - but don't want to give too much away of course. They ask for it around 8 weeks before launch, so I felt I'd missed the chance. About 6 weeks later I got an email from Apple saying your app may be featured on the App Store and they ask for artwork within a week with no guarantee that my game will be featured. Yesterday I noticed a spike in impressions and pay views. It seems they never tell you it's been featured (or where) and they don't feature the same things across their app stores in 175 countries. Not sure if it's spread out over time or whether there's some assessment involved in the process to select where it goes. Also, there's almost no way to see what's on app stores for other countries, eventually I found AppFollow and it located it for me (no affiliation). I've no idea when or if it will move from Asia Pacific to other regions or when that might happen, but it's fantastic to be there. Btw here's the link: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/forbidden-proton/id1572309948 Here's a screenshot from AppFollow for Australia/New Zealand where they've shown in in three categories (Today:new game, new games we love, what we're playing). In the other Asia Pacific countries it's just showing under new games we love. I'd love to know other's experience if your games got featured in the app store.
