Made it all the way through, beat the final boss, and then it just hung on the end screen. No option to start over, no option to take my heroes and continue to another level. I also found that shortly after I was on one path, I was stuck on that path. Easily 12 of the 16 floors I went through just had one option forward. That was kinda annoying. Lastly, I lost one of my characters when I drew back, had the red line showing I would hit my target, and when I released he missed and jumped out of the ring. That was annoying. Late game my characters are just haphazardly thrown onto the map sorta kinda resembling where I originally laid them 5 levels ago. I’m also not sure if there’s a limit to units I can play at once. It says 4/4, but by the end it was 9/4 units. And this one similarly could be great. Right now it’s missing a few key things. (Aside from occasional bugs.) 1.) Saving between matches is a must. The fact that exiting out of the app effectively ends your game and forces you to start over is not great. Other roguelikes usually have this sort of save implementations - particularly on phones, where game interruptions are pretty common (like phone calls, for example.) 2.) the lack of upgrade systems or unlocks or items sort of reduces its replayability. No additional characters. Now power ups. Really no menu to speak of, aside from language. You can’t even turn off the vibrate. 3.) at least on iPhone, the board can feel a little claustrophobic and difficult to navigate around. It’s not that things are too small. On the contrary, you’re just too zoomed in. Sometimes you get trapped making moves you didn’t intend because of bad angles. The bugs actually aren’t so bad. And the game looks absolutely stunning. (As did Miyamoto.) If they could just fix/implement some of these it could easily move from a 3-star to 5-star game. Collin and ThirdMoon like this.
