You're hired to do a job. You try to manage your relationships. But you're never really sure where it's all leading to. It's a story about living, the daily grind and what it all means in the end, topped with a sprinkle of satire and mysteries. After doing a lot of action games, I wanted to do something much more intimate and personal and Day Repeat Day is what came of it. Press: - It takes some serious ingenuity to subvert a genre as entrenched as the mobile match-3 game, but somehow developer Kimmo Factor, probably most well-known for the awesome hack ‘n slash game Barbearian, has done exactly that - Game of the Week / Touch Arcade - It turns out to be much, much more than this, than either genre, a whole, complicated and unique creation, that speaks truth about life, about work, about hierarchies and about mistakes. It’s stunning. - Kotaku Information Seller:Kimmo Factor Oy Genre:Arcade, Puzzle Release:Apr 14, 2021 Updated:Feb 05, 2024 Version:1.1.2 Size:560.2 MB TouchArcade Rating:Unrated User Rating:Unrated Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal https://apps.apple.com/us/app/day-repeat-day/id1553029497 Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #2 anthony78, Apr 14, 2021 Looks like an interesting take on match-3 games. Would love to try it but a little light on cash after buying Northgard. Hopefully we can get some impressions for future consideration. gimblll likes this. Not an issue for most, just personal opinion. I'm sure I will just go back-&-forth in my head and just buy it. A premium match-3 by an awesome dev......of course. gimblll likes this. gimblll Well-Known Member Jan 11, 2012 145 40 28 Helsinki, Finland http://www.gimblll.com #4 gimblll, Apr 15, 2021 Last edited: Apr 16, 2021 Hi, developer here! If you got the game, and the TASK page doesn't show any texts there's a bug in it (version 1.0.3) and I have a fix. But it'll take what it takes to go through the App Store checks to get the update out (version 1.0.4). It only bugs on certain locales and UK/US is fine I think, but some others are broken and you might want to wait (as it contains some important story texts). Sorry! Edit: The fix is now out! Tanis Nikana Member Apr 15, 2021 5 3 3 Female #5 Tanis Nikana, Apr 15, 2021 I'm two playthroughs in. The first time, I was maximally asocial and told everyone to piss off and die in a fire; I didn't even respond to Vivian after she said she was gonna just "crawl back into her cave". Eventually no one responded to me and it was just the work and the suffering. Brother said happy birthday once, then blocked me shortly after. I felt miserable at the end. Second playthrough, I was as social as possible. Ended up divorcing Vivian to be with Robin, raised fantastic kids. Saw so much more of the game this way. Couldn't get through to June. Forgot to resign, accidentally sold humanity to some faceless thing. Probably merits a third playthrough, but man, going through the same identical sets of match-3 puzzles gets old. Wish there was a way to accelerate further playthroughs. ColeDaddy and gimblll like this. The conceit is awesome, and the story fits within the world and concept so well. gimblll likes this. I originally wanted to make this multi-platform so landscape was the "natural" choice, but I agree that on mobile it would work better in portrait. The problem is that I've not made the UI responsive, it's quite hard coded now, so it would take a lot of work to change it and I would also have to redo new versions of all the videos to suit portrait too. I mean, just to enjoy story on second and next playthroughs? gimblll Well-Known Member Jan 11, 2012 145 40 28 Helsinki, Finland http://www.gimblll.com #11 gimblll, Apr 19, 2021 Ok, so... Yeah, the match-3 skip is something I've obviously thought about. But I kind of don't like the idea of people speed running through it many times, as it'll expose some of how the game works and in a way take away from the experience you already had. In a way it's also part of the "art" and story that you have to repeat it all if you want to do it again, as in it's a game design choice I made, but on the other hand it is boring. I honestly never thought people would play it so many times that it would be needed. I'll give it some more thought, but I'm not promising anything. Tanis Nikana likes this. The way this game replicates the mundane drudgery of gamified capitalism is AMAZING. The narrative choices have a lot more weight and nuance than the simplicity of say the 'Paragon/Renegade System' or 'Clementine will remember that.' Easily in my top three of the year so far. gimblll likes this. Brightsiderus Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2017 2,234 540 113 #14 Brightsiderus, Apr 21, 2021 Anyone found the answer to Captcha?
