It's 100% obvious this is a PC port and the bare minimum to bring it to ios was done. There are hover mechanics that are impossible to do using touch. None of the controls are explained. Had to figure out on my own long pressing, double pressing, etc. You can't read an items description without using the item because of the hover mechanic. Just feels like an overall unfinished game for ios. Not bad for a free game but I would not pay for it unless the controls are fixed. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #3 anthony78, Apr 8, 2021 Yeah, bad port and a $14.99 full game unlock. Nope. hutq Member Sep 11, 2019 12 5 3 Male #4 hutq, Apr 8, 2021 It's sad. I am a sucker for Minesweeper games. This game is seriously my cup-o-tea. But the controls are inexcusable. I'll buy it on a Steam sale if it's never fixed for ios. Brightsiderus Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2017 2,236 540 113 #5 Brightsiderus, Apr 8, 2021 I dunno. I played for couple of hours and haven’t noticed problems with controls except long pressing that shows info on the item. it’s a port from android. Have you seen tutorial which explains controls? hutq Member Sep 11, 2019 12 5 3 Male #6 hutq, Apr 8, 2021 It was released on PC and Android on the same day. November last year. But it was clearly designed with PC in mind. I play lots of PC games on Shadow PC, a PC streaming client. This is exactly how PC games play on Shadow from an ios device. It's doable but not ideal and definitely not what you would expect from an ios app. I have seen the controls tutorial. They don't give a way to read an items description without using it. Just try it. Go to your inventory and try to read what an item does without using that item. I have several others I can play. vectorarchitekt Well-Known Member Dec 29, 2013 2,489 177 63 #8 vectorarchitekt, Apr 9, 2021 I’m glad to see this, as the last minesweeper dungeon game disappeared. Drives me nuts that this isn’t in portrait!! anarei Active Member Sep 15, 2014 25 2 3 #9 anarei, Apr 9, 2021 I had this problem at first, too, but I found a solution!! Tap and hold on an empty space and then move your finger over the item to read the tooltip. Keep your finger held down and drag it back to an empty space to let go without using it. This game is really fun! I wish I had a job now to buy it, but I will pay for it when I can. It says “only available in the full game”. while this is decent fun, gee is some of it cryptic and the UI for information pop ups to get a description of stuff is awful. All pop ups appear under your finger. The Token Shop being a fine example of that. Brightsiderus Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2017 2,236 540 113 #13 Brightsiderus, Apr 9, 2021 I guess, Classic mode more similar to original Minesweeper game without quests and such kline6666 Member Aug 11, 2020 9 6 3 Male #14 kline6666, Apr 11, 2021 I have been playing this game for the last two days and really grew to like it. The rogue mechanics is addictive and the graphics and music are really to my liking. yea the control is shit and even now I still often explode a mine rather than marking it from time to time, and sometimes I explode a mine when dragging the map around, and I still have trouble bringing up inventory sometimes. But eventually you get used to it. you long press to use anything, which includes characters and statues on the map. You can read item description again without using it. Single quick tap on an item to bring up item description. Long press to use it. Don’t use hover as your finger would be in the way. Yes this is the opposite of what we are used to... The unlock only removes ad and unlocks hard mode and a bunch of extras. The entire story mode is completely free. Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,616 377 83 #15 Talbs, Apr 14, 2021 Does anyone know of any similar minesweeper ‘with a twist’ type games available? While I really want to get in to this, the controls, in particular for the inventory are just total rubbish. I can’t have one run where I don’t accidentally use basically all of my items in the inventory. Also don‘t have any problems with the controls. I've NEVER been a fan of Minesweeper, but, damn, they've taken that core game and put it into such an amazing package of higher level mechanics and unlockables, that it really hooked me much more than I would have thought "Minesweeper with some Roguelike elements" could. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #19 anthony78, Apr 6, 2022 After reading more positive responses, decided to give this a try but I can’t even get past the screen where it asks your play style.
