Intrigued by the new gameplay mechanic. also, i kept the first one installed because I just loved the sweet retro SFX the game devs used, and though the graphics were impossible to for the 80s, it still strangely feels right at home to an old arcade game and was a nice tribute to that era. Must have been before my iPhone gaming addiction kicked in. I always like to see you commenting on others’ games, @DariusGuerrero, as I look up to you as a great game maker. Been playing this one for about 4 days on and off now and am really enjoying the gameplay, as well as all the unlockables. Just got my first pet yesterday. They collect stray bits which is a really nice feature. Also, there are no forced ads at all, just several IAP for bits and gemstones. The other ships do seem to cost quite a few gemstones, but I can tell I’m closing in on at least two or three of them with the gemstones I’ve gained from just playing. My current high score is 17,620 if anyone’s looking to challenge me. It was just about two years ago though. Maybe they removed the old one in fear that App Store would mark it as spam since they have similar names and icons? I did learn pretty quickly that they really were different. The new one has deeper mechanics than the old one. The old one was more shmup, and this new one isn't like Asteroids as I imagined. It feels more of like a strategy idle game, where you have to be strategic in what skills you choose based on your style. For example, I choose to increase movement speed, decrease enemy speed, etc. etc. but others may choose higher crit damage, blocks, and such. Although I have to admit my score is nowhere near yours yet as I got a little too busy this week. And thank you for the kind words @Anotherkellydown! Haha I check the forums from time to time to see if there are any new retro style games, platformers, unique-looking games, and even hyper-casual games that just have new mechanics or if a developer whose past work I'm familiar with has released something new. Not to steal ideas, mind you! Hahhaha I pride myself in my games being unique themselves. I love the roguelite feature of this game. I'm guessing people are using the "hardcore" mode to get such high score? Played a bunch last night and a round or two this morning. Got high score up to 18,176 with most of the hardcore mode on. The only "complaint" is the grind for resource for the other space ships. Otherwise, its pretty fun game. I'll try to not play too much to "grind" and burn out..but can't wait to unlock the other ships to see their powers. Spoiler There's 2 gift codes to redeem. Search for the game and "reddit".
