Based on the frantic and fun board game, this turn-based, survival/strategy puts YOU in the Captain's chair... You must co-ordinate the crew to repair critical systems and fend off hostile aliens, or you'll share the captain’s fate. From the Chief Engineer, Weapons Officer, and visiting Admiral, all the way down to the Ensign and the ship’s Janitor, you must combine your unique talents to avoid utter annihilation in the cold depths of space! YOU HAVE THE CONN! Step into the Captain's chair and command the crew! Each team member has a very particular set of skills that you'll need to leverage to the full if you want to survive, including... ADMIRAL - A master of plans and evasion. CYBORG - Immune to the mysterious forces of deep space. CREWMAN - Gets killed very easily... good thing there is an infinite supply! COUNSELOR - Can manipulate skills for the best chance of success. ENSIGN - A fast learner, and even faster runner. CHIEF ENGINEER - Can fix the ship real quick. SOLDIER - An expert at taking out aliens. ...with more on the way! RESISTANCE IS FUTILE! Defend the ship against an unknown alien nemesis that will do everything they can to blast you to atoms! Fortunately you have state-of-the-art systems to help you out... BRIDGE - Scan for threats, repair shields and communicate with your crew. WAR ROOM - The Captain planned ahead, and left emergency dossiers to help you out. ARMORY - Destroy alien ships with torpedoes, and activate auto-turrets to repel boarders. CPU CORE - Power-up your crew with skills. CARGO HOLD - Bust open the cargo pods to grab lasers, scanners, and other helpful gear. INFIRMARY - He's dead, Jim! Oh wait... no... it's just a flesh wound. That can be fixed here. SCIENCE LAB - Upgrade the ship, and research spooky, sub-space anomalies. ENGINEERING - Fix the Jump Core to get the heck outta there! JUMP TO HYPERSPACE! If you can stay cool, repel the aliens, protect the crew, and keep the systems operational long enough to repair the Jump Core, then you can activate the engines and escape to Hyperspace! Or is it Warp Speed? I can never remember... Information Seller:Thunderbox Entertainment Ltd. Not sure about the art style, it may trip me out lol. But watching some reviews this looks like a great management board game now digitalised. A good playthrough demonstration here: And a good review here: It’s impressive that they seem to have released this in a final build version concurrently for PC and mobile. That’s pretty rare to do. Way too often mobile lags a PC release often by years. I think ima pick this one up. Seems like a good spaceship management strategy game. I’m getting impressions of a “roguelite board game” AND “ship strategic management” game but “strategic management” so far that you have to make strategic decisions about which systems you repair, or protect, or whether to continue with the goal. Nothing about a classic anything, I don’t think I said that though... I’m less into all the flashy graphics on this, but will pick it up today, cause, why not..... eh!? Talbs likes this. skoptic Well-Known Member Apr 3, 2015 634 82 28 #9 skoptic, Feb 2, 2021 Yeah, I’m more into this as a TBS, I’m very temped by SpaceHaven but find RTS SIMs (which I have enough of!) a little bit more stressful (event when pausing all the time!) I love FTL, and thought this was like that game, but then someone said it’s a board game. Gameplay reminds me of another board game similar where have to repair a space station. wish there was a demo of this, as don’t fancy paying £8 to then find out I don’t like it Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,616 377 83 #11 Talbs, Feb 4, 2021 Perhaps watch the vids posted in this thread? One of the links I posted is a full play of the game. skoptic Well-Known Member Apr 3, 2015 634 82 28 #12 skoptic, Feb 5, 2021 Last edited: Feb 6, 2021 There might be a great but punishing game here..... I’m trying to find it underneath the gratuitously flash, animated UI with a lot of missed opportunities for UX guidance and reduced icon clicking. Edit: OK - it may be the way my brain is wired, but the tutorial is very funny haha, but shite at actually teaching you the game. Read the board game rules and it makes a lot more sense. It’s brutal and the UI is snazzy rather than functional. I’m happy with the purchase, but feel Tharsis or Space Food Trucker will be played more. I can still hear the music and sound effects, but no CPU and crew sounds anymore, i think since the iOS 14.5 or 14.5.1 update. I have this problem on both my iPad pro (2018) and iPhone 11 pro max. Both devices are on iOS / iPadOS 14.5.1. (You must log in or sign up to post here.) Show Ignored Content Share This Page Tweet Your name or email address: Do you already have an account?
