See if you can keep up with the pace, as new features and effects make wrestling even easier to play yet even more satisfying to master. Create your own star and embark on a career to encounter up to 350 opponents across 10 different rosters in the sport’s most epic shared universe. Make the right moves backstage as well as in the ring to fight for your worth and retire with a career worth remembering. You can now "take it outside" with a whole other roaming mode that challenges you to take responsibility for what happens behind the scenes in real-time! When you’re ready to get serious, upgrade to a “Pro” subscription to stop relying on sponsors and make the world your own by saving your changes to each character. The most intuitive match setup process in wrestling is then available to create dream matches before your very eyes – roping in as many characters & props as you can handle! The original game now also includes a whole other booking mode at no extra cost, which challenges you to run your own promotion with a territorial twist! Assemble the best roster you can with the resources you have, and then travel the world trying to set attendance records everywhere you go. Present the right matches in the right way at the right time to maximize your impact on the ratings, whilst trying to keep a locker room full of egos from self-destructing. Everybody thinks they know better until it's time to do better... It is still a great value for, easily, the best wrestling game on mobile (and imo one of the best pro wrestling games to be released on any platform in the last few years). If Wrestling Empire follows the same trajectory as his previous Wrestling Revolution 3D game on iOS then we should be getting some huge updates in the coming months/years. First impressions from the Nintendo Switch/Mobile version + Frame rate is much better in the new game. Playing Wrestling Revolution 3D and then playing Wrestling Empire is like night and day. + A few more grapple opportunities and counters compared to WR3D. + Many more contract stipulations in Wrestling Empire compared to WR3D. Right now my current character is only getting paid to lose matches for Rising Sun Puroresu (enhancement talent). A few other neat stipulations include making sure you get a title shot and having the promotion hire your friends in the game. + The background music slaps hard. I know that some prefer the WR3D “broke” theme from watching a few first impression videos but I really prefer “my time” in this game and the couple of other songs that play in the background. + Size matters: Larger wrestlers seem to easily shake off strikes from smaller wrestlers and, from what I understand, counter power moves much easier. + The social interactions from Wrestling Revolution 2D are finally in the 3D series. Social interactions such as the ref raising your hand after you win, shaking hands, or hugging your friends are now in Empire. +- A couple stats, Charisma and Toughness, are absent from Empire which were in WR3D. I’m pretty sure toughness is now part of the body size factor between wrestlers and Charisma might be incorporated back into the game when or if the booking mode gets added. +- There are quite a few moves from WR3D missing in Wrestling Empire at launch but the launch of WR3D had far less moves than WR3D years later after a couple of huge updates (although there’s a few new moves in Empire at launch). I expect there will be a number of large updates for Wrestling Empire that will increase the move set significantly. - There’s only three modes at launch Training, Exhibition, Career. Noticeably absent is the booking/promoter mode. It wouldn’t surprise me if the booking mode option is added with a later patch. Still Career mode alone is well worth the asking price of the game. I’m definitely interested! I’d rather pay $10-$15 and be done with it but I don’t know how many feel the same. The dev deserves to eat. $4 a year sounds reasonable but reasoning with the mobile crowd can, understandably, be difficult. It’d be cool if it succeeds. I’ve been hoping for a decent wrestling game about actual wrestling. JasonLL likes this. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
