During a long-passed archaeological excavation, a set of Gates were discovered. People quickly realized that these ancient passages lead to different realms and dimensions – providing brave and reckless adventurers with treasures beyond measure. Rynoka, a small commercial village, was founded near the excavation site providing refuge and a place for adventurers to sell their hard-earned riches. Moonlighter is an Action RPG with rogue-lite elements following the everyday routines of Will, an adventurous shopkeeper that dreams of becoming a hero. The mobile version of Moonlighter introduces a set of new, intuitive controls that will let you efficiently manage your shop as well as swiftly deal with the dangers that are hiding in the deepest of dungeons. You can also choose your difficulty from Easy, Normal, and Hard to adjust the experience to your gaming needs. While Touch & Swipe is the default control scheme for the game and the best way to experience it - you can still enable classic Virtual Joysticks and enjoy Moonlighter this way. MAIN FEATURES: SHOPKEEPING While conducting your business in Rynoka village, you can put items on sale, set their price carefully, oversee gold reserves, recruit assistants and upgrade the shop. Be careful though – some shady individuals may want to steal your precious wares! FIGHT WITH STYLE Defeat various enemies and bosses using natural, easy to learn touch controls. Masterful control of your weapons, critical timing, swift dodging, and an understanding of your enemies and environment are crucial to your survival. How you battle your enemies is up to you! MEET VILLAGERS Get to know your neighbors as you restore the prosperity of this small commercial hamlet. Help establish new businesses and watch them grow in the idyllic community of Rynoka. CRAFT & ENCHANT Understanding the crafting and enchanting system is essential for your progression. Interact with the villagers to craft new armor and weapons, and enchant existing equipment. This creates a great deal of flexibility and spices up the way equipment is used. Hoarding everything won't be possible - use the unique inventory system wisely to take the most profitable loot with you. Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,616 377 83 #3 Talbs, Nov 12, 2020 Ok then. Well, since it is a high-ish price for iOS, I think everyone should be aware that the controls are........different. Its basically tap to move. I’m going to give it some more time before I comment further, but just be aware of that. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #4 ste86uk, Nov 12, 2020 Can’t find it in the U.K. either and I guess I can’t grab it from another country as it’s paid I imagine? Been looking forward to this coming out as I had it on my switch but often passed it over for other games and thought if I had this on my phone I’d play it a lot more. @Talbs not great controls then? Must be weird for the dungeons. Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,616 377 83 #5 Talbs, Nov 12, 2020 I too was really looking forward to it. But I’ll need more time to make my mind up on this. Price is high so wanted to make sure it would be something id enjoy before downloading. Bit uncertain now with the controls being reported as tap to move. Surely a standard floating stick would be implemented for a game like this V Kuolema Well-Known Member Jun 30, 2011 431 27 28 Canada #10 V Kuolema, Nov 12, 2020 So I just played the beginning of the tutorial. The controls are indeed a little counterintuitive. I haven’t gone into the settings but on Easy and Medium auto attack is on by default. So you tap where you want to go and Will goes there. If enemies are around a red circle appears under the currently targeted mob and he will auto attack it. You can change the targeted mob by tapping on whichever you want to kill first. In the midst of movement you can swipe to roll. so to roll over a chasm you tap the other side and then swipe as you near it. I do believe it’ll become easy once I adjust to it but it may throw some people off. gaberaph, ste86uk and solarnya like this. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #11 macplash, Nov 12, 2020 What’s wrong with tap to move? (Or drag to move) It works perfectly fine for Cat Quest for example. The fighting and everything. Don’t hate it but definitely prefer a joystick. I actually passed on BitDungeon III because it has tap to move. Just too many dungeon crawlers to play that might as well stick to what I prefer. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #17 ste86uk, Nov 12, 2020 So what is the price of this with the mention of it being expensive earlier? atko92 Well-Known Member Jun 2, 2011 58 29 18 Male EV Industry England, UK #18 atko92, Nov 12, 2020 Pretty sure it's 11.99 USD so same in GBP. The thing is, I wanted to love these cute games so badly, and these games become so agile the second you plug a controller. Tap and hold and enemy to cast a spell? Gimme a break, I just wanna tap a button and make it happen. I've actually mentioned this on their Discord, and they said "it's by design" which confused me a bit more since the mechanics and tempo drastically changes when you play with a controller imho. But hey, that's just me and Cat Quest games are really good. Another example, I've heard some fellas didn't like the touch controls on the Castlevania SotN, where I beat it at 200% achievement thingy with ease. So I bet this game is pretty amazing too. I just wanted to love it as well, but I can't tap to move... There are many things I don’t like! But with this game I’ll have to wait and see how it feels playing it, but control options would be nice at this price point. At least then people can find different setups to suit them. bx59 likes this.
