Screenshots imply that it is not. I’m always interested in a good SHMUP but this looks a little “casual”. It's not a traditional shoot 'em up at all. You control the ship like one (relative touch) and you dodge attacks and obstacles like one, but your own attacking is done via melee which is tricky to get used to. I found I was taking damage way too easily and without feeling like it was my fault, but this improved when I started playing with two hands. One finger is always on the screen to move my ship, while the thumb on my second hand taps to attack. It's too fiddly trying to attack using the same finger or thumb you're controlling your ship with so I wouldn't really consider this a good one handed game like most shoot 'em ups are. Anyway, like I said it's growing on me. It's definitely something different. There's 3 playable characters and seemingly tons of levels. Also a shop to buy various items like health potions or different weapons, and also a few permanent upgrade items like extra storage slots for your item bag. No IAP so it's all with coins you get during play. I definitely wouldn't call it casual either, it's quite challenging and I died probably a dozen times on the first level alone, though a lot of that was just trying to warm up to how different the game is from other shooters. Yeah, the shop screenshot is what gave me that casual impression but good to know it’s all bought with in-game currency. Picking it up now thanks to you. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #8 anthony78, Nov 3, 2020 Grabbed this as well and sadly, controls don’t work on the borders and it’s not using the space at the top or bottom. (ie., you get the time, battery, etc.). To me that’s more annoying than even not being full screen. At least make it black on the borders! Boardumb Administrator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Apr 14, 2009 8,964 880 113 THE BOSS Sacramento, CA #9 Boardumb, Nov 3, 2020 This didn't jive with my experience, but I figured it out. If you start controlling the ship on the actual game screen, it'll continue controlling it even if your finger slides into the border area. If you touch down on the border first to try controlling your ship, it doesn't work. I certainly do wish this was just a proper full screen game. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
