If it turns out like Hokai Impact, there will probably be no real paywalls, just plenty of opportunities to use cash to enhance the experience — I played HI for months without dropping a dime. As someone who put in about 15 hours into Breath of the Wild till I got sick of the weapon breaking and blood moon mechanics, my hot take is that I enjoyed Gemshin Impact more. But I’m sure many Zelda fan will find the project offensive as a whole . If you can look past that, there seems to be plenty to enjoy here. JasonLL and Skall like this. The game looks and sounds sooo stunning! Yet I cannot fully relax playing it, since there is always at least some shady ongoings behind that system. Just a great story mode with that presentation, and I wouldn‘t shed a tear for Omega Rings or all Final Fantasy ports. yury1975 Well-Known Member Mar 31, 2014 188 1 18 Moscow, Russia #11 yury1975, Sep 28, 2020 Playing iPad 2018 and have serious issues with movies and games crashes regularly. The bad (good) thing is it is a huge open world, with hidden chests mats and gliding spots it’s essentially anime botw. The droprates seem very low so far, but it’s countered by not needing any top tier characters, you can get some decent ones just by playing. tops2 Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2011 2,083 56 48 #15 tops2, Sep 28, 2020 I only played it for about 10-15 minutest on my XR and didn't notice too much heat. But I realize I still can't play games with perspective like this since I get motion sickness too easily...especially when I start trying to look for hidden things and grinding.. But does seem like a quality release. JasonLL Well-Known Member Feb 21, 2014 546 106 43 Male #16 JasonLL, Sep 29, 2020 Yes. it’s one of those games where you have to play for ten minutes or so before the options menu becomes available (a bearable but annoying pet peeve of mine in mobile gaming.) Once your able to summon your little helper Paimon you just tap in the upper left and It’ll open up a menu where you’ll find a gear shape on the right side and then you will know what to do from there. Squarezero ready to take all the smoke from the Nintendo fanboys . That is high praise indeed. Honkai Impact was imo playable without spending. MiHoYo has got the gatcha down to an art form. They’re known for their notoriously low drop rates but free to play players shouldn’t have any issue playing comfortably. In the meantime the game has a bit of high hanging fruit for the players that want to open their wallet. On my iPad Honkai Impact gave me a ton of heat playing on max settings but I never had an issue except for quicker battery drain. Genshin gives me a hot iPad for the first few minutes, and to be fair they warn about “overclocking”, but it seems to run fine and the heat does subside after a bit but I need my higher res and at least 60fps. I’m guessing it may just heat up a device no matter the settings but I can’t say for sure. Plus i guess the game doesn’t have an energy system that limits how much a player can play a day either. I played it high graphics and it didn’t get noticeably hot but yes it was still a battery eater. @yury1975 Doesn’t work on my ipad either JasonLL Well-Known Member Feb 21, 2014 546 106 43 Male #18 JasonLL, Sep 29, 2020 Would love to have seen it on Apple Arcade with in game currency being used exclusively for summons and extras. It would’ve made a fantastic gatcha game for Apple Arcade and from what I’ve read they’re looking for games with higher retention rates. Nothing screams high retention rate than a top tier character/item collector that is much more grand than many mobile free to play games that have come before it. Either Apple was oblivious to miHoYo products or they didn’t want to spend the big money to compensate miHoYo for what they feel like they may have lost from what they would earn from their hardcore fan base. Truth be told though that’s all baseless speculation and I’m far too ignorant on the business side of things between Apple and other devs to give an accurate answer but it’s fun to speculate a bit.
