Quests are funny, combat system is interesting, and the game provides good number of loots. There is a one time $8 IAP that upgrades the game to the Pro version that gives you better loot and some other stuff. You can purchase it from the settings. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #3 ste86uk, Sep 16, 2020 I remember testing this a bit in beta but sadly I never did get into it. But I’ll give it another try on the release version. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #4 anthony78, Sep 16, 2020 Ditto. I like the game’s style and humor but the combat is too simplistic and repetitive for my liking. (And release version is pretty much the same) ste86uk likes this. I only stopped playing because I wanted to experience the full release version. The combat really starts to shine after you get some good gear and skills. You use different tap gestures to either normal attack, thrust, defend, etc. I love it. Normally that sort of combat I find dull but this game nails it. You can always get a refresher on what gestures are required simply by selecting the skill and replaying the tutorial on that skill. This feature has been excellently implemented. Lots of equipment drops, the usual common, rare, unique, sort of stuff. There is an underlining humour to the game not taking itself too seriously that I found to be refreshing and enjoyable. This has been a most anticipated release for me and glad to see it finally made it. I highly recommend it and it is free to try and one purchase makes it a premium release. ste86uk likes this. I like the quests being chained together, instead of just go fetch this, here is your reward. Also some quests have multiple approaches as well as conclusions. Combat seemed repetitive at first, but with enemies started hitting harder and faster, combined with new moves that l acquired, each encounter is starting to get quite interesting. I am really glad I picked this up. I think this is a game of the week material. ste86uk likes this. stubbieoz Well-Known Member Jun 23, 2015 1,880 358 83 Male Grey haired gamer NSW Australia #9 stubbieoz, Sep 18, 2020 The way the quests work is very user friendly. You always will know what you need to do and where the enemies are. This game is easy to pick up and play for 5 minutes or hours. You can save the game whenever you like, except for battles, which take all of 30 seconds. I also appreciate the way the sorting and selling equipment works. Whenever you get a new item, your inventory gets an icon that shows the number of new items. Tapping on the inventory will then take you to the relevant category such as helmet, body armour, weapons, etc. That screen shows your current equipped item which you can instantly compare to the new item. Makes working out what to equip so easy. Selling redundant equipment is a breeze also. Simply go to a village hex, tap sell, and all the unused equipment is there for instant selling. It all works very flawlessly. Also regarding the other iap, the skins. There are a total of 30 skins. They range in rarity and give bonus percentages to attack/defense/exp, etc. Some also include a negative stat as well. You can see them all in the Merchant screen. They simply add to your characters effectiveness, but are in no way necessary to play or enjoy the game. Be careful if you decide to buy some. There are three options, to buy 1, 2, or 5 suits. Note that those options are colour coded; blue/purple/gold. Those colours are NOT indicative of the rarity. You can still get 5 lower level skins. I just wanted to point it out. Now thats not the only way to get skins. You do get one for free every few level ups. Also note that you will never get two skins the same, either by playing or purchasing or a combination of both. But I suggest you forget about buying any skins especially early in the game. You may well get a top tier skin just by playing, and that makes levelling up just that bit more rewarding. Really the game becomes a premium game just with the Pro Version purchase. Don’t be put off looking at the other iaps available in the AppStore. ste86uk likes this.
