Each mission is played on a much larger map compared to that of Hydra. One sad thing is this game removed the favorite skill function that were present in previous titles. Also, it would be great if the skill bar is available like it was in Demon Rise. It’s quite tedious to pull up the skill selection each turn. mgambino Well-Known Member Aug 13, 2014 159 95 28 #3 mgambino, Sep 9, 2020 I just got done heaping praise on WaveLight on Reddit and shall do so here as well. Buy this game. His games are are always awesome tactical RPGs. Seriously, the gameplay is solid, characters are have a ton of variety, and the graphics are solid to awesome. Things get fixed when they are broken, support is there. Do it for me so he can make enough money to keep making games. This one seems nicely streamlined. I would love an option for moving all characters at once, especially with these larger maps. Maybe it already exists — haven’t seen it. Thanks for posting up the thread. I was trying to do it earlier today but it kept erroring out. It may have been too early or perhaps I wasn’t using the right syntax. Let me know if you have any questions. There are lots of new aspects such as passive abilities, abilities that trigger on death, exploding terrain, etc. It may not all be as clear as I’d like but I’ll try and add some more pointers or things to explain it all. Let me know if you run into any bugs. For the ability UI, each character has up to 9 skills and so cramming them all on the screen at once is a bit hard. I was thinking of having a whole section to the side with ability icons but thought it might look bad. It’s also complicated by the fact that I have to have space for abilities you get from equipment. Jstorm Well-Known Member Feb 2, 2020 1,082 474 83 Male Employed Earth #7 Jstorm, Sep 10, 2020 I think having a skill shortcut at the bottom of the screen with 5 or so skills per row, where rows can be switched with up/down arrow might work. Many RPGs for PCs use the method. It would be preferable that shortcut can be mapped by a player, but filling up from the upper left -> bottom right of current skill panel would work, with skills from items added after character skills. WaveLightGames Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Nov 21, 2014 2,242 21 38 IT / Finance Manager Toronto, Canada http://www.wavelightgames.com #10 WaveLightGames, Sep 10, 2020 Yeah, I would think it would be very hard or impossible to implement a move all units method since they all move at different speeds. You also, do you want to have some hold positions in cover with long range weapons while others advance forward for melee and others to stay back and support. If you find the gameplay a little on the slow side, remember that you can at least speed up the enemy turns with the Game Speed button. Also, gameplay does shift a bit as you move forwards in the campaign. The first couple levels are intentionally a bit slow but then the number of enemies and the direction they come in really picks and you'll find that you have to think about every move carefully unless you get overwhelmed. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,716 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #11 squarezero, Sep 10, 2020 I can see that. I’ve played games with group move using player defined target placements — I guess they use AI to calculate individual paths. Obviously, once you encounter hostiles you would switch to single unit movement. It’s not a deal breaker by any means, though. candyjet Well-Known Member Aug 25, 2010 183 12 18 #12 candyjet, Sep 10, 2020 Have to say, it is crashing consistently before the first mission on my iPad Air 2. Can the graphics be turned down a bit? Would that help? Thanks, CJ Asp Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2017 769 196 43 #13 Asp, Sep 10, 2020 Same here. Set graphics to ‘fastest’ for Air 2. candyjet Well-Known Member Aug 25, 2010 183 12 18 #14 candyjet, Sep 10, 2020 Have found the graphics option now. I have set it to ‘simple’ (to match the player), but still crashing after selecting mission 1 and before the gameplay starts. CJ Asp Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2017 769 196 43 #15 Asp, Sep 10, 2020 I know. You’d think ‘simple’ would work but it doesn’t. ‘Fastest’ is the only setting on which I can run it, presumably having the lowest detail. The intro screen is slightly blurry but game itself is fine. gmattergames Well-Known Member Mar 1, 2013 607 42 28 #16 gmattergames, Sep 10, 2020 Crashed during first mission on AI turn. iPhone 8 candyjet Well-Known Member Aug 25, 2010 183 12 18 #17 candyjet, Sep 10, 2020 Thanks, Asp. Here it says $1.99 which I assume is USD. However in the Aussie AppStore it’s $4.99. Taking in account the dollar difference (currently USD$1.00 = AUD$1.38) USD$1.99 should be around AUD$2.76. I’m not saying the game isn’t worth 5 bucks but it appears that Apple is ripping off Australians, once again. EDIT: I did some further investigating and it appears the price here is incorrect. I believe the USD price is actually $2.99 which equals about AUD$4.12. Still at 5 bucks it’s a bit extra than it should be with conversion, but at least palatable, and like all Wave Light games, for me a purchase. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
