Also a pause button right next to jump/shoot buttons? Not a good place. I think a good chunk of those 90% that threw away the game before seeing the Sun did so not because of the difficulty, but rather due to the control setup. The control would be much better if you provide a joystick rather than left/right buttons, even if the vertical direction doesn’t do a thing. Fix them and I'll give it another shot for sure, no doubt beating the game I'm all for a joystick style control scheme, cannot stand the left/right arrows. I do like the black/orange graphic look Not being about to hover your finger over the left/right buttons to change direction isn't good Having the pause button in the corner is bizarre. Just have it top middle like most games Maybe its my fault for not reading the instructions, i tend to just play the game instantly. Found it all a bit strange, walk along, up a lift, down a lift, walk along up a lift etc. I was hoping for more 'traditional' platform type of gameplay This is meant to be constructive by the way. Good on you for releasing a game on the app store, wish i could do that. But here lots of people would beta test your game for free and give you constructive feedback to help. I think sometimes devs might test it themselves (or get a friend to) and you may miss obvious things. If i was you i would download a platformer game 'similar' to yours and see what they do better. Eg the pause button, any person here would say its not good to have in the corner. Didn’t have any problems and can see no reason to die there, unless you run out of energy at that point. I agree that early on there’s no need to take the lifts down; and jumping will save energy too. Later, though, a blind leap can land you in trouble. I think it’s a matter of learning what’s happening in each section. Be sure, I test the game with my friends by myself, but we did it to often and they usualy said me something like "oh, thats cool, good job" So it was hard to understand for me, is this game too hard for people, are controls okey or they are not, etc. I guess, much better do not show game anyone till you over it I hope so too, but its might to be happened, cause ground edje is thin. About first level. I didn't know, how explaine the rules of my game. Yes, lifts are high enough, so you don't see whats down below on the ground. I don't learn player to do "jumping of faith".
