But then they had me at Poker + RPG. (Probably fond memories of Sword & Poker long gone...) Then they said it was offline - okay I'll at least try it! Unfortunately it suffers from a big flaw. Stamina economy is terrible. The first battles cost about 40 stamina a piece and you have around 150 stamina. Rounds last probably about 3 minutes or less. You can play this app for maybe 5 minutes or so then you run out stamina. And recharge rate is 2 minutes for 1 stamina lmao. So is that 80 minutes of waiting to play 1 round? And who knows, later levels will probably cost even more. For a casual game that you should be able to pick up and play whenever, it barely let's you play. Maybe you can get more max stamina later but this is disheartening. Stamina really is the worst f2p mechanic ever invented. houseofg, ShinHadoukin and vectorarchitekt like this. Some full-screen "LowerMyBills" ones with political statements on them and another one that wasn't even skippable. Doesn't appear to be any way to remove them via IAP. Core gameplay is sound, but it also seems very much like a game that reins you in subtly by making the gameplay relatively rewarding, until you need to buy coins/gold/energy later on to get further. I'm also missing Sword & Poker (not the F2P "reboot") and don't know why someone isn't willing to take those mechanics and create a new premium title. vectorarchitekt likes this. vectorarchitekt Well-Known Member Dec 29, 2013 2,489 177 63 #11 vectorarchitekt, Jun 5, 2020 It’s worth a try. Ads are terrible but the developer stated on Twitter that they’d work on a remove option. Also, I mentioned the they should get rid of the stamina. Maybe they will. my only issue with the game is that the battles are too easy, and you can watch an ad to revive (at least once I know of) which basically removes any incentive to try and win. I miss Sword & Poker too! I even liked the Reboot. Hoping GameClub will nab the originals. The gameplay is very simplistic, no actual pvp or even p vs AI just pick/guess the best hand and win (played 25+ rounds, no losses). Seems the goal is to win each round and watch an ad, the concept is great but with no competition or interactive play it’s just a glossy single player poker game... just my opinion, kudos for the style and concept. But there are options to play other players or to go back to previous levels, where the battles are easier to build up. The side tasks to gain ingredients and the totems and the special cards are really nice options. Really, just an excellent game all around. For those who don't want the ads, just turn off your wifi or cellular data. Otherwise, it seems like you'll get ads after maybe every other game. Regarding the stamina system, yeah, I'm not loving it. But it's not as clear cut as saying each game is 40 and you have stamina of 150 MAX, so you have maybe four games. Your stamina builds back up fairly quickly, and I believe if you use up less bullets in your games, the bullets that are not used get put back into your stamina. Small thing, but you can usually get 6-7 games before you have to put it aside. Choongsic Ham likes this. But I can’t find it to buy within the game. Anyone able to buy it? (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
