The exceedingly ordinary protagonist, Makoto Naegi, is accepted into this academy which holds the "hope" of the nation's future.. He was chosen by lottery from all the other ordinary students to attend the academy as the "Ultimate Lucky Student"... On the day of the entrance ceremony, Makoto loses consciousness in front of the entrance hall and comes to in what appears to be the interior of the academy, which has been completely closed off from the outside world. He suddenly loses consciousness and comes to in what appears to be the interior of the academy. The dreary mood is far from the impression given by the name "Hope's Peak Academy." The dingy corridors, iron-barred windows, and prison-like atmosphere... Something is wrong. In the entrance hall, a stuffed bear that claims to be the headmaster tells the students they will live in the confines of the school until the day they die, and they must kill someone if they want to leave. Including Makoto, there are 15 Ultimate Students from all over the world trapped in this academy of despair. One thing after another crushes their hope. Incidents which shake their trust, the sadistic headmaster, and the mystery of the mastermind. Who is behind it all, and what do they want? Currently not up anywhere it seems, and I can't confirm if it's universal or not, but it'll be $18. Additionally, my expert sleuthing skills have deducted that Danganronpa 2 may come out on the 18th of June.
Nice!! I played this one on Vita but never got around to playing the rest of the series. I'd love it on a bigger screen like iPad vs playing on Vita... looking forward to 2! This is a great game -- murder mystery, visual novel, fun interactive, great collectibles.
Well, you can love Monokuma, but not the game, lol but either way, I played all four parts of Danganronpa and happy that I can replay it on iOS.
Theyre brilliant, aren't they? And this port is just phenomenal in every single way. It's made me look at my collection of games that are (were) on my device and delete the ones I was wasting time with. When something is so engrossing, it makes such a difference. I'm so stoked for the next couple of months.
Yeah. Maybe not the Ultra Despair Girls game, but the main trilogy IS brilliant. Unusual antiutopia setting, some kind of “dating sim”, great twist of events... but I kinda feel sorry for the first protagonist of v3.
I don't have much space left on my device but I'm so tempted. But I do need some help! I KNOW of the series but I've never played any at all. I can't really tell what it is. Is it a horror game? I definitely do not like horror games so I can't tell if this "murder" is aka horror stories or more of a murder mystery deal. And then lastly, is this game worth it? $16+tax is still a lot for me and knowing nothing about it, I can't tell if it's something I'd spend on. Is it a lengthy game at least? I prefer longer games in general since I feel more investment in them.
Murder mystery deal, worth it (insanely), lengthy indeed (upwards of 35 hours). Do it. Only thing is, be prepared to spend the same amount (if not more) next month and July (educated guesses) for the sequels. You won't regret any of them though.
@metalcasket I’ll delete this post when you’ve seen it but having difficulty finding the thread for Hue, but it just got a colourblind update! I thought you’d like to know.
Well, I’ll oppose @metalcasket a little by saying that this has a very cruel scenes of killing after the culprit is found. It’s really sad to see some of heroes dying.
The game's gory and very graphic (the blood's pink though) but it's suspense/psychological horror and not jumpscares and whatnot.
I really wish I understood the controls for the trials better. Tapping on the truth bullet when a contradiction comes up doesn’t do anything. Tapping on the contradiction as it scrolls sometimes does nothing and other times makes the bullet go off way to the right of where I tap and way too late, so it misses the contradiction entirely. Tapping the bullet chamber sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. It worked out fine for my first trial when I just hammered all over the screen but that feels stupid, so I’m trying to do things properly now. I know that the contradiction is my cue to tap, but I have no idea exactly when or even roughly where to tap for the game to recognise it as correct.
