Looks like alongside the recent Switch release, Fallen Tree has re-released this to mobile. The original 2014 version was published by Noodlecake, which sadly means even if you owned that one this is a separate new purchase. Not really a bad price to pay to have such an awesome word game back alive though. I don't have the original installed to compare the two to see if there's any new content or any differences, but at the very least it looks like this new release has iPhone X screen support. Original version is bar none my favorite word game. Single IAP to get rid of ads and that was it. Loved the story and characters. Power-ups and plethora of achievements. Unfortunately, original version doesn’t work for me anymore. It crashes after completing 4 floors (I think it’s 4). Anyway, if this is the same game only premium right from the start, I have no problem to pay again. Hopefully this one works and whatever bug was causing the crash in previous version is gone. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #4 ste86uk, May 18, 2020 Never heard of it, how does it work with the characters being on the board? Is it just to get them to the bottom by making words? new_ipodtouch5G_owner Well-Known Member Mar 16, 2015 386 46 28 Canada #5 new_ipodtouch5G_owner, May 18, 2020 Thanks for the heads up on this great word game... instant rebuy for me. macplash likes this. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #6 macplash, May 18, 2020 @ste86uk that's right. you're just making words and destroying tiles so the characters can fall down. You're in the skyscraper's top floor and making it all the way down. With each chapter there are new mechanics added and it's getting more difficult like you need to provide oxygen (to link the correct tiles and whatnot). Just check the previous thread for the information - I'm sure it has plenty. enough with browsing forums.. back to Levelhead. ste86uk likes this. Thank you. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #10 ste86uk, May 20, 2020 I’m enjoying this so far as for the gameplay itself. Although the story I’m not really quite sold on it something I don’t like about it. I had multiple guesses within the first few levels at what might happen so I guess that’s a mystery at least to see if I’m right or not, I am usually pretty great at guessing things like that in movies. But even if the story doesn’t catch my affection as I progress further it’s still just a bonus to the gameplay anyway which is enough on its own. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #11 metalcasket, May 21, 2020 Yeah...while I personally have always enjoyed the story, I think even if you end up not caring for it, there's no denying that the game gets its flair (and unique gameplay mechanics) by way of said story. Gotta say, even though 6 years isn't that long ago, I wasn't expecting this to hold up as well as it does! I've been playing for a few days now and nothing feels outdated or out of place. Much like Bombcats, it feels way ahead of its time and is packed to the brim with features left and right. Word games tend to fizzle out for me almost instantly, but with Highrise Heroes there's something to get you invested in, rather than focusing solely on highscores, leaderboards and whatnot. Recommended it back in the day, and wholeheartedly still do. ste86uk likes this. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
