Offline single player sounds right up my alley. Would people that played this game recommend it? Or is it one of those games that don't age well? ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #9 ste86uk, May 13, 2020 @L.Lawliet without trying the new version it’s hard to say what has actually changed. But regardless of that it was an excellent game that I loved playing and removing any iap and having it all obtainable sounds great. The free version is still up which has online co-op and pvp which I think would have been nice to have in this version. So you could always check that out and just try to remind yourself it won’t have any timers or freemium parts. But you can try the gameplay at least. L.Lawliet likes this. But it would be nice to be able to obtain everything as I didn’t buy any iaps in the game and hopefully it’ll be less grindy to upgrade gear etc. Probably be a good few hours before I can give any thoughts though as work have changed my hours and I’m starting soon. Edit; just thought I’d add that co-op was never there from the start anyway and the game was amazing before that or pvp was ever added. Which is why it’s easy to buy this. I can see myself spending a ton of time with this. There definitely seems to be no multiplayer (PVP, co-op) included (it simply says Solo on the main menu) and that doesn't matter to me at all. For that stuff to exist, there need to be servers in place, etc. and those things cost money to maintain...money that's most likely driven by the Free to Play version. To include those features here would mean the need for a constant influx of cash that, let's be honest, would probably not be made through the sale of a premium version. What's offered here instead is a $4 fully premium solo experience that serves as an alternative to the original game, but doesn't aim to replace it in any way, shape or form...and I think that's a fair trade-off. If you enjoy one version but find you're missing out, you can always download the other version too. ste86uk and L.Lawliet like this. I'm incredibly wary of purchasing now after my last purchase Beat Hazard 2 was actually a waste of money that I had to delete it (and Apple support is non-existent right now so no refund). That said, Space Pioneer itself is just such a satisfying game. It’s so immediate, the UI is so clear and intuitive that you’re never left wondering what you’re going to unlock at the end of a mission or what objectives you still need to complete to get 3 stars...it’s just a joy to play all around. Couldn’t have been more happy with this purchase. But I love upgrading it makes me feel like I’m progressing and getting stronger. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
