Whoops...nevermind that. ): I've been following this since it was announced and came into this fully aware that it wasn't a pure platformer, but involved lugging a cube around. With my very limited time with the game however, I wasn't expecting that aspect of the game to be this difficult to control on mobile. I'm trying to stick with it, but it's starting to really test my patience. Please do your homework before buying this, I implore you. I hate that the first impressions here are negative, but I can't keep quiet about it. I initially thought AppUnwrapper was just generally garbage at the game (which she is ) because platformers are not her thing, but I'm not any better. Take that for what it's worth. I just spent my first 90 minutes with the game and controls are SPOT ON! Adjustable size is great. It already feels so smooth and natural. I started playing the Steam version in Early Access on PC with keyboard and mouse and let me tell you, touch controls are tons better. I’ll test it with controller on Xbox since it’s part of Game Pass, but oh my god the touch controls works great! There’s this slide feature you can fluently slide your thumb from jump button to rope shooting button, which makes e.g. grabbing the package in mid air right beneath me a matter of single slide of the right thumb and holding left thumb on the down arrow. Which is crazy in comparison to PC controls. And it won’t be as smooth using controller either. I’m just in awe how fantastic touch controls are. It took me weeks to get used to touch controls in Dead Cells and yet, playing Levelhead feels so natural right off the bat. Not even to say I’m already further in the training then on PC. I’m already playing other users’ creations, just because I’m totally hooked. Editor (aka Workshop) is fantastic. Introduction to it is perfect. Everything is pretty clear, it’s so easy to understand and build something. I’m planning to spend hundreds of hours there. Hundreds! Anyway, enough with the superlatives. I’m going to play! I said I’m pulling an all-nighter and that’s exactly what I’m gonna do. What a masterpiece this game is. I had such high expectations for it but the final result is far beyond that. Wow! Just wow! ste86uk likes this. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #19 metalcasket, Apr 30, 2020 I mean, I'm sure no one's surprised you disagree with my earlier post. Thing is, you've played the game elsewhere. You knew what to expect, physics-wise and all. I'll admit the 2 hours I sunk into the game after posting that really did help, but no matter if you feel the controls are spot-on or not, there is a learning curve...one that I'm afraid (as a wise man once said off-site) some players might not be willing to stick with. I have, and I'm sure everyone who wanted to buy this has already...regardless of my opinion (unlike in other threads where my voice may have a little more impact). I found if I go really slow and think it through, I start to "get" the controls. Most platformers have you racing the clock and you don't get a chance to really feel out the controls. I think I could get into this one. macplash likes this. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
