Love it. So I’m holding off until I finish legend of skyhook 2 to start this one, I want to be all in and not lose the thread of anything. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #7 metalcasket, Apr 23, 2020 Oh my! I've literally avoided this since the pre-order went up because the screenshots and videos of the game weren't doing anything for me, but man oh man couldn't I have been more wrong. This is GORGEOUS in motion and nothing can do it justice as much as playing it. Gwarmaxx, ste86uk and Makara Nou like this. A bug: The text type option resets to default every time the app is reopened. I think the other options are saving correctly. A request: Please think about including an option to speed up or skip combat animations when facing an enemy type you have fought before. Doesn’t seem like this will require or even encourage much grinding, so it’s not as important as with something like Battle Chasers, but it is always appreciated in my book. Although how do you find it with the music? I hate anything that isn’t what I listen to and advertising as having electronic or whatever it is? Does the opposite of appealing to me and seems odd to me when I mostly like pure d&d themes. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #11 metalcasket, Apr 23, 2020 Well, me being a metalhead (and only a metalhead) certainly doesn't give me much options regarding video game music, so I'm open to all music in games. I would certainly say this isn't for everyone, but it's perfectly paired with the visuals, and makes the game a joy to play. So it doesn’t put you off it anything just feels right with the game like any game music really? I can guarantee you it's nothing like playing a rythym game and being completely disconnected because you're playing genres you'd never listen to otherwise. ste86uk likes this. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #14 ste86uk, Apr 23, 2020 Watched the first 10 minutes of the video at the top and it looks good, could be prettier I mean as some bits look good and others look a bit basic but for a one man effort it’s pretty amazing. I take the combat opens up more with attack options etc? Does it have gear and things you collect also to become more powerful? macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #15 macplash, Apr 23, 2020 Another World is currently on sale for a buck which I highly recommend. This one though, despite reading all the positive comments and especially from watching the gameplay video does nothing for me. I just finished turn-based RPG Battle Chasers: Nightwar after 50 hours of gameplay basically within a week, so I guess I’m spoiled. I don’t get what’s this one about though. Seems too amateurish to be enjoyable. Almost to the point being distracting. And the music in first minutes of video already gets on my nerves. Later it sounds much better, but still... What am I missing here? Gwarmaxx Well-Known Member Feb 2, 2010 4,446 376 83 NCC 1701 #16 Gwarmaxx, Apr 23, 2020 i don’t know mac, guess is a matter of aesthetic tastes, i liked what i saw in the previews the past few months, i was waiting for it. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #17 ste86uk, Apr 23, 2020 @macplash I’m feeling similar to that, but I just took a look at the 148 apps review and that’s pretty good and I usually find they don’t generally give really good reviews. Says the game takes about 12 hours which seems really good. But yes you are spoilt with Battle Chasers, I can’t think of much on iOS that compares other than Baulders Gate and Kotor but I played those on pc I’m not sure how good the iOS versions play. Edit: although Metacritic for the pc version seems pretty middling. I don’t usually check reviews unless I’m really unsure what to do. macplash likes this. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #18 macplash, Apr 23, 2020 Yeah. I think it’s about the taste after all. You’re right. I don’t HAVE TO play every single new game - I’m aware of that. I’m just trying to understand as I wouldn’t want to miss on something extraordinary. But I guess this is not the case. @ste86uk please, those reviews by Campbell Bird? Don’t be ridiculous. Dude’s delusional. Bomb Chicken 3/5, Castle of the White Night 3/5, Reventure 4/5, Aces of the Luftwaffe 3/5... oh come on! And I’m writing this being aware about him watching this forum. The main complaint being the visuals and sometimes not being able to tell where you should go because something that looks like background is actually somewhere to go. I don’t usually check 148 apps but it come top when I searched. But yeh that’s what I thought with bad reviews for good games so thought it must be really good to get a good one! I think maybe this might be a fun little adventure, graphics aren’t everything after all. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #20 macplash, Apr 23, 2020 @ste86uk why, of course! It’s always about the gameplay. Visuals are just a matter of taste. If the gameplay seems appealing to you, just go for it! People here seems to like it. There’s no harm in trying... I mean, it’s not free so there might be a little harm if you end up not liking it, but it’s not the end of the world. If you’re okay with what you’ve seen in that gameplay video above, I’d say give it a try. ste86uk likes this. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
