I didn’t try the game but judging by the screenshots on the App Store, there’s just a texture added to fill the black bars. Not very subtle if you ask me. So, @ConneD Games is this a permanent solution or can I look forward to a fix? From the gameplay trailer I’m intrigued and single IAP to remove ads sounds great, but having those bars there is unacceptable for my potentially positive experience. ConneD Games Member Sep 21, 2019 12 1 3 Male #3 ConneD Games, Apr 16, 2020 Thanks for your question, At this stage the screenshots are of the iphone app with some extra bars to fulfill the appstore's requirements. The game should run just fine on ipad and we are potentially looking into making a separate ipad version. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #4 macplash, Apr 16, 2020 @ConneD Games you’re right! Those screenshots doesn’t do the game any justice and I advise you to change them. On the other hand, the game’s obviously built for widescreen devices and on iPad it seems to be just going out of bounds on the sides - see screenshots attached below (achievements and leaderboards on the first one, arrows on the second) But the bigger problem I have is the lack of shadows. They’re present on the screenshots but missing in my game. I don’t know if the game checks the hardware during the launch and sets the quality option to fit its needs OR if the shadows were turned off by default just to assure the smooth performance on wider range of devices, the fact is there are no shadows in my game and it’s kinda dealbreaker for me. It might sound superficial, but it’s important for me. ConneD Games Member Sep 21, 2019 12 1 3 Male #7 ConneD Games, Apr 16, 2020 Good spot! Update on it's way, won't be long macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #8 macplash, Apr 16, 2020 Did you have a chance to fix the out of bounds menu as well? You mentioned a possibility of separate iPad version. I assume if I buy remove ad IAP in this version, restore purchases won’t work in the other one, correct? How real are the chances for iPad version? Because if the menu is fixed, I see no reason for it anyway. As of right now, I didn’t come across any more issues during my gameplay. ConneD Games Member Sep 21, 2019 12 1 3 Male #9 ConneD Games, Apr 16, 2020 The shadows will be a quicker fix, the out of bounds will take a bit longer but that's next on the hit list. I'd have to get back to you with regards to the IAP, watch this space macplash likes this. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #10 macplash, Apr 16, 2020 @ConneD Games if I may, while you're at it, the overall "Let's go" presence could use some tweaking. It's okay-ish when you tap on Start game, although unnecessary (I already tapped Start, why do I have to confirm again with Let's go?), but the same button is there when you quit the game and going to the menu. First few times I thought I'm restarting the level when Let's go button appeared only to bring me back to menu. It's not a deal-breaker, more of a nitpick, but it gets kinda annoying - especially after shorter periods of gameplay. Also having an option to go through tutorial is fine, but does it have to be there permanently next to Start game? Not to mention, even if I actually choose a new game instead of tutorial, it's still there (with arrows to tap either next or back until I tap that Let's go button I already mentioned). If the game had any settings menu, it'd be more suitable there. Anyway, thanks for even being here and willing to have a discussion. I appreciate it. ConneD Games Member Sep 21, 2019 12 1 3 Male #11 ConneD Games, Apr 17, 2020 Sure, thanks for taking the time to engage with us and raise concerns. I really do appreciate the feedback, and I'll have you know the shadows fix is well on it's way! The Let's Go appears on a loading screen. Your device might be fast enough for this to load very quickly, however on some of the older, slower devices there is a bit of a wait time. Also not a deal breaker for most people, but we had some testers complain that they felt the game hung up on them after pressing Play so we added a load screen that also served as a mini tutorial. Regarding the Tutorial button still being there, we want to give the players an option to redo the tutorial again if they need to as we noticed that quite a few testers missed some critical information that became more valuable to them later on as they began to master the game. Particularly I'm talking about things like the Demolition Factory and the Science Lab for upgrades. A settings menu is a potential solution, we will look into that. If you don't mind me asking, what is your top score at the moment? macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #12 macplash, Apr 17, 2020 @ConneD Games well, fair enough about the tutorial. Makes sense. As I said, just a nitpick. I didn’t make it far enough to build those buildings you mentioned. I mean, I haven’t found any use for them yet. Btw, my high score shows as 357, but it might be the one during the tutorial? In leaderboards it just says “user_name 100” despite the fact I’m properly logged in to Game Center. Weird, right? Also it shows only top 10 players anyway? And btw, please get back to me about that remove ads IAP and/or different potential version of the game so I know if I should purchase now or wait for later (depends on that restore purchases functionality). ConneD Games Member Sep 21, 2019 12 1 3 Male #13 ConneD Games, Apr 17, 2020 Yep, you'll sere later once you reach the 1000+ mark how important those buildings become. We're looking into the IAP, it should be ok but I want a proper answer for you. Regarding the leaderboards, the names should start appearing after a couple of seconds - this is something we don't have any control of unfortunately.
