Almost Tetris kind of puzzler. Right up my alley. What’s keeping me from even trying it are the screenshots on the App Store for iPad version of the game. Especially those gray bars to fill the space on top and bottom. I mean, seriously? Is there a chance this gets a proper fullscreen experience in the future? PremPixelStudios Member Jun 22, 2019 6 0 1 #3 PremPixelStudios, Mar 19, 2020 Unlikely, this is my first game release for iOS and I am still learning the ins and outs. I originally designed it this way so someone with a wider screen would not have an advantage playing the game (because blocks enter from the sides of the screen) so with the original design it is way to much work to implement the requested changes. But I will definitely keep you comments in mind for my next game and make sure this is not an issue. To be honest you aren't missing much as most of the action is in the center of the screen so I hope you can put aside you grievances and still give it a try, it is a lot of fun! macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #4 macplash, Mar 20, 2020 @PremPixelStudios well, thank you for taking time to respond. I appreciate your honesty. The game looks great and considering it's your first, I'm just impressed. And you know what? All that being said, I'm sure I can give it a try. Sure, borders are not ideal, but at least it's not stretched or anything, right? And I wouldn't want to miss out on a potentially great game just because it has borders. Let me get back to you once I take it for a spin. In the meantime, congratulations on your first iOS release! macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #5 macplash, Mar 20, 2020 As promised, I'm back with some impressions. Some of the cons first, if I may: Those borders are bothering me despite the blocks flying from the sides only. And because the gameplay is all about building and expanding around the circle in the middle of the screen, iPad resolution could even benefit from it. But since there's nothing you can do about, let's move on. I'm getting a lot of crackling sound, mostly while still in the menu. I'm not sure what's causing it. It's the most noticable during the tutorial up to the point I was considering playing with sounds and music off. But during the gameplay I didn't notice any. Weird. Achievements and leaderboards could use some organizing. There's no point to separate them to local and global. And mostly, global are not even displayed there - you still need to tap on an icon which brings you to Game Center popup window. Which has this option itself. I assume this is because the game's not exclusively design for iOS so you kept Google Play Games in mind as well, correct? Otherwise a simple Game Center icon anywhere in the menu would suffice for this. And that's it. Those cons aside, you were right - the game is a lot of fun! I really like the idea and the game mechanics. Especially in the beginning while the gameplay is more relaxed and slow paced. Special blocks are a great addition and there's a lot to keep an eye on during the gameplay. Controls are smooth and responsive, everything feels very natural. I love an option to swipe to speed up the falling block, just like in Tetris. Once it picks up a pace, there's no room to do that anymore, but in the beginning it's just my favorite thing to do. Also an option to build color blocks in colums or rows is fantastic. And I love the choice of colors btw. Great color palette! I played just the first mode so I'm not sure how things differs in those other two, but I'd love a ZEN mode for more relaxing, preferably endless fun. If it's already there behind those paid ones, I apologize. I'm just gonna be honest here. I'd pay for an additional content in a heartbeat, but since iPad is my primary and only iOS gaming device, I can't do that unless the game's fully optimized for it. And gaming on my phone is not an option as I'm an older person and I prefer a bigger screen. The bigger the better. If you decide to do anything about it in the future eventually, despite what you already said, I'll be the first one here buying your game. It's a promise! PremPixelStudios Member Jun 22, 2019 6 0 1 #6 PremPixelStudios, Mar 21, 2020 Thanks for all the detailed feedback, you are spot on about almost all the issues you brought up! The audio issue should be fixed asap, I will look into it. The zen mode (cryogenic mode) is not behind a paywall and unlocked after playing 5 games in any game mode, in zen mode you can adjust the speed directly to your preference during gameplay. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #7 macplash, Mar 21, 2020 Well that sounds fantastic! I mean, adjusting the speed to my liking? That sounds like a dream. I guess I was only one game short from unlocking the ZEN mode then. Let me give it another go at it.
