It’s also, frankly, infinitely better than Battlelands, which, within seconds of starting up, offer you multiple hard cash transactions. Battlelands has a ridiculously complicated menu that seems designed to make you feel like you’re missing out If you’re not shelling out money. In Butter Royale, all customizations (skins, flags, footsteps) are available only through gameplay. Again, it’s a simpler game than Fortnite or PUBG (or Battlelands). But it’s also refreshing in it’s sincerity: all it wants is for you to have a good time. I think that’s worth a lot. houseofg likes this. The monetary side’s a given seeing as its Arcade and I applaud that. I only compared it to Battlelands in terms of gameplay; weapon swaps etc. For the record I don’t like it either. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,714 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #5 squarezero, Jan 26, 2020 Hey: to each his (or her) own. All I’m saying is that IMO it’s a pretty good game, and a ton better than being treated like a wallet. If there’s anything I would criticize is the size of the map vs the number of players ratio — it can take a little while before the action really heats up, especially if you put yourself in a less populated part of the map. BTW, you’d be surprised by some of the things my 13 year old finds boring . MetaGonzo Well-Known Member May 7, 2009 1,459 271 83 #6 MetaGonzo, Jan 26, 2020 Yes indeed; I hope it brings fun for people. Horses for courses and all that. I couldn’t agree with the financial side more. In this genre not being hounded for cash is indeed a breath of fresh air; or a pair of deep lungfuls perhaps! BigCheese360 Member Feb 1, 2020 5 1 1 #7 BigCheese360, Feb 1, 2020 I didn’t think I’d enjoy this game so much. Playing my daily 25 minutes or so on the iPad Pro with a Steelseries Nimbus controller and it’s keeping me entertained. Here’s a strategy I came up with: 1. Start close to the center of the Salty Shipyard 2. Get the Breadzooka in the center of the Salty Shipyard immediately 3. Run east to the Sunnyside graveyard. On your way out of the Salty Shipyard maze you often already find more ammo and armor and on the bridges to Sunnyside there are often health containers, in case you suffered some damage already. 4. After stocking up on ammo and armor at the center of Sunnyside, run north to Pasta Plaza, where you’ll usually find more. This strategy sometimes even feels like cheating, especially when the Salty Shipyard maze is populated with ammo and armor already. You can often get out there well-stocked without having had any encounters yet. Since the Breadzooka has a decent range and deals area damage, you don’t need to be great at aiming and you can even hit players hiding behind obstacles. Three hits are usually enough to cream them. The only issue is getting enough ammo, but on the above path you should find plenty. I also usually retreat when I run low on ammo to find more and I won’t pick up another weapon if I don’t have to. I love this game, me and my son play squads for hours. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
