Did not see that. Well i guess that is what happens when i trust AppStore reviews most of the times but i will try and see. Asp Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2017 769 196 43 #6 Asp, Jan 17, 2020 So much to learn! Here’s a bunch of tutorials I’m finding useful. https://gamepress.gg/arknights/ L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #7 L.Lawliet, Jan 18, 2020 Really great so far. Only bad part is I spent 4 hours rerolling (lmao). The game itself looks great and a quality tower defense game is definitely something different. I think the quality of this game shines the most when you first start playing, it's simply beautiful. I have to say the UI and the music are the best I've ever heard in any mobile game. I can just leave the menu music on for hours. It's that good. Hopefully I'll stick with it but it's hard to keep up with FGO, AL, and now this. If anyone plans on playing for a while a least, feel free to add me: Cory#0568 Let me know your username so I know who to add. Asp Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2017 769 196 43 #8 Asp, Jan 18, 2020 Friend request sent. Will be from Aspinal#0435 Starter tips: Set recruitment time to max 9 hours for chance to draw better units. Don’t let anyone die in battle. Tap on retreat if they look weak as some of their deployment points will be refunded. No need to focus on 6 star units. 3 stars are effective after promotion and way cheaper to upgrade. Thanks to Tectone. So glad to see global version finally come out. Very f2p as well if you go that route. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #10 L.Lawliet, Jan 19, 2020 I requested you. I see friend requests disappear after a while. Does the game just delete friend requests after a certain amount of time? Asp Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2017 769 196 43 #11 Asp, Jan 19, 2020 Thanks. The friend set-up worked okay. Not sure about requests disappearing. Maybe a time limit, though requests can be deleted/declined. One thing I am sure of is it’s a crazy huge game! Not played anything of this scale on mobile before. Just when I think I’m comfortable with everything a ton of new mechanics are introduced. Today I’m trying to get my head round base building; finding the best layout of trading posts, factories and power plants (2-4-3 looks good, but maybe 2-5-2) together with using the most efficient operators, while monitoring their trust and morale stats. I’ve learned that operators get tired and need to be rested in a dormitory. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #12 anthony78, Jan 19, 2020 So haven’t seen any comments on the freemium aspect. Are the IAPs needed? Like I mentioned before, I usually automatically skip games that have them listed all the way to $100. Too many good premium games but this looked interesting so was curious. Asp Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2017 769 196 43 #13 Asp, Jan 19, 2020 I’ve not had to buy any IAP so far, but then I’m only at the start of chapter 2. What really is needed is a lot of commitment. I spend way more time reading guides, watching videos and tinkering with the game set-up, rather than actually playing and progressing through the story. dukat111 Well-Known Member Mar 23, 2010 514 94 28 #14 dukat111, Jan 23, 2020 The game looks great. Can anyone comment on whether there's a paywall? Don't mind spending but not when it becomes an infinite ramp-up. Is there a way to restore energy (Sanity) besides waiting or paying for restoration potions? Can you farm easier fights to get potions to restore energy so you can play as much as you want as long as you can win some fights? Is there any kind of multiplayer/clan activity? Just like FGO and Girl Frontline,... The gacha side of the game is for mostly banner unit which in theory you can get from normal recruit but with lower chance than in banner, and skin for your waifu, refill stamina. Other than that, there are so many mechanic in the game, you will unlock eventualy and they come with their own currency and you can earn them or buy them. For example you can see Asp's post up there is base managing system, and there is decorative for it, you can farm currency and buy chair, table to put there or you can buy currency to buy those interior maybe there will be interior with difference theme pack to be sell later. You will hit difficult spike, quite soon, but that it just to remind you to level up your team or tweak up your tactics. 1 lession that i learnt the hard way is 5-6* unit it not alway good, because when you focus upgrade them right at the beginning they will increase energy cost ingame and will break your energy economy and break your tactics. Like i watch a guide for a map on youtube and still cannot pass because my 5-6* units cost so much that i can't keep up with the pace of situation inside the match, so i have to invest in lower 3-4* unit just to pass that map lol. dukat111 and Asp like this. Asp Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2017 769 196 43 #16 Asp, Jan 24, 2020 @WjndWalk3r makes some good points; especially avoid the 6 star trap early on. Those units need serious maintenance. Fine to use later. Unit abilities are more important, e.g. 1 star Lancet-2 medical robot ignores the deployment limit which can be crucial in some situations, and being 1 star she needs no investment. Free play seems possible in Arknights by farming for level-up experience. Easy to do with the auto-deployment system which remembers the tactics you used to win on any map. For those who don’t mind paying, the $1 starter pack is a no-brainer, and a $5 monthly card will provide adequate resources and support. It’s worth filling your friends list for the co-op multiplayer, to obtain clues for upgrading. Once the base is established, build a reception room where you can host or join ‘clue parties’. If you get that far it will all make sense! WjndWalk3r Well-Known Member Apr 22, 2015 305 5 18 #17 WjndWalk3r, Jan 24, 2020 These kind of game mostly bait you with banner waifu and skin for those that update eventually (if you like them), it require quite skill and a lot of knowledge to reach end game content, almost everything is you need to grind and practice yourself. For me, my playstyle for these kind of game is get and build my waifu, other important one can be get randomly or through their banner later or maybe farm able in some content, mostly nothing will force me to pay any dime. To do so with Arknights will take a whole lot of research, though there is already much information available. For anyone that interested I can recommend the Tectone series of Youtube lectures to help get started.
