It looks good. I just think it’s strange they released it as iPhone only. It’s been in the works and available on Android for a couple of years now. stubbieoz likes this. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #3 macplash, Dec 8, 2019 @Royce please let us, fellow iPad users, know too the moment you have any response. Clearly drawing inspiration from Ori and the Blind Forest but just isn’t that good. Looks pretty but bland gameplay and weird controls. Maxime0683 likes this. Kinda bored in all honesty and the controls leave much to be desired. Once you get the double jump and the wall climbing, the platforming and exploration gets a lot more fun. The environments are well designed and the whole thing feels very polished. I’m not a huge fan of Ori (I found the level design kind of mean spirited), and maybe that’s why I’m enjoying this more than other folk. You can see my conversation here: https://www.up-entertainment.net/community/_rima/rima-the-story-begins-v1-0-0 Ultimately they just referred me back to the original contact form I tried when the game first came out that has still yielded no response. Royce Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2011 4,240 180 63 #14 Royce, Dec 14, 2019 So to update on native iPad support, I got an email back from the devs on Wednesday saying they “might” be an update for iPad “in the future” which was not exactly encouraging. Someone else posted on their website that the devs responded to his email saying they are currently working on an iPad update which will be released as soon as it’s ready. That’s more encouraging but considering only 2 days passed between the email I got and the one he got, it leaves me wondering what to believe. So.... after seeing the trailer for this and.... especially since I'm a fan of Meteoidvania's that are more exploration based instead of action/combat based.... I was SUPER stoked about this. But after reading the developers response on their forums and trying to deal with the (I'm sorry but....) ridiculously frustrating virtual controls, I've offloaded it - hoping it gets updated sometime soon (maybe in the next 6 months or so), but I'm not holding my breath. We REALLY need some more quality Metroidvania titles in the AppStore.... especially since the 32bit dump. I know it's a bit of a niche genre.... but it's kind of like SHMUPs in that - fans of these games are generally fanatic/OBSESSED about them, and most are willing to pay borderline ridiculous prices. Even if developers charged $25-$40 for their game - so long as it had some massive depth and had near perfect controls/physics/was very comfortable to play (and had reasons to replay) - genre fans would be ecstatic. Like Wayward Souls. It’s a way to honor an early adopters, which I most of the time am. But in this case I’m disappointed. We’ve been waiting for native iPad support since its release day, which is months, and the developer makes it more expensive without giving us a chance to buy it for its original price? I don’t like that. Doesn’t seem fair. Especially since they weren’t even responding to our questions about iPad support in the beginning. What was I supposed to do?
