This one still seems to work and allows me to download it from my purchased items list. Although other titles from EA like Monopoly Millionaire or Monopoly Here and Now doesn’t seem to be available for download anymore. Brightsiderus Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2017 2,234 540 113 #3 Brightsiderus, Dec 4, 2019 Well, it’s a standard Monopoly, but in 3D. Plus, cool decorations in the middle. Although, season pass which grants 9 new maps with similar layouts and card packs to interesting, but pricey Stronsay Well-Known Member Aug 6, 2015 987 230 43 #4 Stronsay, Dec 4, 2019 This is well up to Marmalade’s high standard of board game adaptions. Like the others there are modified rules to add some variation. I haven’t played the EA Monopoly so can’t compare with that. Here you get single player, online multiplayer, online friends and pass & play. Monopoly can take some time to complete so there are optional quick rules; Skip tax, chance and community chest squares Quick hotels after 3 houses instead of 4 Quick Jail - leave next turn Game ends after 1st bankruptcy. Also custom rules allow inclusion of any of the above and a few others such as collect 400 instead of 200 on Go square. Then there is cosmetic IAP for extra board themes at $6.99 or season pass $28.99 for 9 boards yet to be published. Just the one extra Seasonal board at present along with themed playing pieces such as snowman and sleigh. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #5 macplash, Dec 4, 2019 Interesting. From the price point the base game sounds fine as I paid 10 bucks for EA’s version iirc. But the amount of IAPs is borderline ridiculous. I understand these are just cosmetics, but let’s be honest.. I can already see some aggressive promo in form of pop-up windows here and there and whatnot. Even if not, once you know they’re available, it just pulls you to buy them. It would never feel like premium app in the first place. I don’t know. If I didn’t have EA’s version already, I’d probably grab this no questions asked, but under these circumstances I’m just not sure. I mean, 32,99€ for Season Pass? Damn! I think i’ll buy it anyway but i’ll wait for some of your comments. Thanks! Stronsay Well-Known Member Aug 6, 2015 987 230 43 #7 Stronsay, Dec 4, 2019 If you like the board game then you should like this digital version which captures the spirit of Monopoly very well. I would say it is worth the base price just to try it out. I have only had time to try the single player mode against 3 AI players so far, and have not seen any bugs. I don’t know about multiplayer yet. No subscription is necessary, but there is much IAP for additional boards, and player tokens. As yet, however, there is only one other board theme available. The scary bit is the price of a season pass which is hugely expensive by mobile standards. This will give access to some future boards, themes and tokens as they become available. It also provides immediate access to standard boards from 38 countries (including Italy). Even though costly, the season pass looks way more cost effective than buying items individually. Brightsiderus Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2017 2,234 540 113 #8 Brightsiderus, Dec 4, 2019 It’s not a subscription. It’s ok for playing Battleships or Words with Friends, but in this case it’d take ages to finish the game this way. That would make the full price around $120 which seems slightly bogus. Still, on that basis I got the season pass. Monopoly is played by all the family and it’s now on 3 devices, so I tell myself it’s only $10 each. I have to say the Alpine theme does look impressive with all the animations. No change to the gameplay of course. Looking at the boards from around the world, it is interesting to see the different street names and translations. In Sweden we can get Fri Parkering. Still something of a risk though. We don’t know what and when content will be published in future, and no refunds are allowed on the season pass. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #20 metalcasket, Dec 5, 2019 Come to think of it, I think it may be 78% off the price of buying all the IAP individually and not the price the season pass will eventually become.
