Bred to be a simple worker on a spaceship, you start the game by doing tasks around the ship. You pick carrots, weld cracks in the air system and clear clogs from the plumbing. But then…Aliens attack! Very small alien robots…too small for the human crew to even notice. It’s up to Spacemite to save the day and stop the tiny alien invaders! Along the way, you get help from a sassy A.I., a nutty science mouse, and other characters. Spacemite can even have a pet tardigrade! You swim through plumbing, beam around the central computer core, fix reactor control crystals, pilot a tiny shuttle in space, and many more adventures! It brings together a neat concept with tight controls, varied gameplay, clever level design, and fun mechanics. I guess you could call it a Metroidvania, but with a dash of Zelda thrown in. Worth the $2.99 for the full unlock, IMO. Danbo.co and Anotherkellydown like this. The developer refers to himself as an industry veteran on his website. I’m not sure what he’s done before but the experience shows. This is well crafted. I’ve gotten to the part where you can use the pet tardigrade so I suppose I’ll be buying the full ad free and tardigrade unlock to satisfy my curiosity. The touch controls are some of the best I can recall for an iOS platformer. My only decision is whether to buy the pet upgrade or just the remove ads.... Your pet allows you to take on an additional challenge (collecting stars) to open up a secret level. I’ve collected one star so far, and it wasn’t a cakewalk. I just reached a boss level that’s kicking my butt... Danbo.co likes this. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,972 722 113 England #6 psj3809, Nov 17, 2019 Loving this so far. A few great design choices: You have three lives between save points (basically, the start of the mission). I’m not usually big on limited lives, but here you start lives with all your hearts and all your shield, which is nice. Better yet, damage you do to a boss holds between lives. That means that you dying is not a waste of time, and it’s worth it to keep trying a difficult move even if you’re low on health. Minions don’t respawn between lives, so you can get right to the boss in your next go around. I often find boss fights (and the difficulty spikes that go with them) kind of frustrating. This one felt difficult but fun to beat — that’s quite a trick in my book. Hope this starts to get more attention. Danbo.co likes this. Spacemite has been a labor of love for over two years. I always wanted to make a Metroidvania/zelda type game and thought it would be a six month project at most. Heh. Let me know if you have any questions/comments. And if you do the instagram thang, I've started posting some goofy Spacemite stuff @spacemite.game Thanks again! Royce Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2011 4,240 180 63 #9 Royce, Nov 29, 2019 More people need to try this. It’s really fun, and there’s nothing to lose with a free download. Also welcome to TA Daniel!
