Is it just by switching position of one at a time to create a match or more like dungeon raid or more recently grindstone where you trace your finger across as many as possible that do match and link up? Jolly Good Games Member Jul 30, 2019 24 9 3 Female London #8 Jolly Good Games, Oct 15, 2019 Neither! You take shapes from the bottom and move them around to match 3 or more horizontally and vertically - this charges your characters abilities which you activate for different effects (including destroying enemies, tiles, spiders...) ste86uk likes this. orangecan Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2011 2,000 150 63 #9 orangecan, Oct 15, 2019 It’s a very well put together game with a lot of charm but it really didn’t grab me at first - not entirely sure why not, It felt a bit clunky and the mechanics a bit strange (despite the perfectly good tutorial) - but then everything clicked and now I’m loving it, if you’re a fan of a match 3 style puzzler give it a go it’s a nice take on the genre. What kind of RPG elements does the game have? orangecan Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2011 2,000 150 63 #11 orangecan, Oct 15, 2019 I haven’t quite worked out what you keep at the start of your run either - I’ve restarted twice and I don’t seem to have kept anything, I know it’s a rogue but I was expecting some kind of upgrade. I know you unlock more characters as you go along though, even though I’ve not got them yet. You get a shop every few levels which give you coins to let you buy skills and upgrade them, but they don’t seem to carry over. still really enjoying it, if not even more despite the lack of carry over upgrades, but with the caveat that I’m finding it pretty tough on occasion - you’ve got to really think about some moves, and there’s a fair bit of thinking ahead going on. I’m not even sure calling it a match3 does it enough justice, there’s a lot to think about from stopping gems reaching the bottom to moving your character to killing pests. if the devs back on here again, i can’t quite work out the ladybird behaviour patterns can you help please? I think some kind of bestiary would be helpful to remind people. Just quality for me, it’s up there with Grindstone as one of the best recent puzzlers. Der Khan likes this. Like the above posters i am also curious, what are the rpg elements and what is the progression like( do you keep your upgrades unlock characters etc) ? This looks like a very polished match3, but is it a true match3Rpg so i can smash the buy button? stubbieoz and Jolly Good Games like this. sugimulm Well-Known Member Aug 28, 2010 2,457 46 48 The last time zone for iOS game releases :( #14 sugimulm, Oct 16, 2019 it’s not a true match 3, it’s different but fun. Hard to fully explain, but you match 3 to remove, but can only move from the end piece to another row, hope I made it clear, lol Der Khan likes this. Makes me very happy to have the game compared to Grindstone! Ladybirds randomly choose one of the four directions to move each turn. A bestiary is a great shout! We have a very sparse enemy section in the Gnome Tome that we are hoping to expand on in future updates, but in the meantime we could compile a small wiki. Definitely let me know things that ur enjoying and anything thats bothering you about the game. Also is it confirmed that nothing carries over when your character dies? Thanks. ste86uk likes this. Der Khan Member Aug 6, 2019 6 1 3 #19 Der Khan, Oct 18, 2019 Thanks for the interest! The RPG elements exist in so far as you are unlocking characters and gaining new powers, but the game is a roguelike, so your character starts out with a clean slate when they die. Over the course of the game you do unlock new powers and enemies that get added to the mix so that future runs become progressively more intense. Hope that answers your question! ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #20 ste86uk, Oct 18, 2019 It’s a shame that nothing carries over I like the games where your eventually getting stronger from run to run and feel like your getting somewhere rather than just start all over again everything the same every time. dlt0rre and stubbieoz like this.
