I've already completed it. Morbus Iff Well-Known Member Sep 9, 2010 236 33 28 #4 Morbus Iff, Sep 24, 2019 Echoing what the others have said: you run out of levels rather quickly, and I'd love to see more. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #5 ste86uk, Sep 27, 2019 Just tried this and played the first 11 levels and I really like the game it’s beautiful and really good. I can’t remember when I last played a game using a concept like this one I guess it’s a puzzle game? I’m not really too bothered about the cutscenes but at least they are short. Although as people have mentioned about the levels I can see if I play it for a long period of time I’ll likely complete it pretty quickly. But the game is free being on Apple Arcade and it’s well worth your time to play it even if it is short so far for me it’s really enjoyable and relaxing. Barak Well-Known Member Mar 13, 2010 230 4 18 Portland, OR #6 Barak, Sep 27, 2019 I played through and beat this one but I had to force myself. It just felt boring to me. I felt like an interior decorator in a boring suburban home. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #7 ste86uk, Sep 28, 2019 I just started the third chapter even though I’m trying to take my time because it’s short. But it’s a good game to play and I’m enjoying it still. I get bored very easily and don’t get bored while playing this at all, I can see what your saying but maybe you don’t like puzzle games to begin with anyway? They are fairly simple puzzles though but clever. I like that the last achievement said the end? So hopefully the question mark means that there will be more. The story seems like it isn’t finished yet so hopefully the game will be added to but I wonder where the revenue comes from for that with it being an AA game? Morbus Iff Well-Known Member Sep 9, 2010 236 33 28 #9 Morbus Iff, Sep 29, 2019 I've been wondering that too. Is there really a path forward for DLC in AA games? What's the incentive for adding more content to a game that is likely governed by a one-app finite-release contract? Is your payout based on initial downloads? Play time? Concurrent users? ste86uk likes this. andsoitgoes Well-Known Member Jun 30, 2010 2,673 58 48 In a van, down by the river! #10 andsoitgoes, Sep 30, 2019 I think the main goal is play time. So adding DLC brings people back in to spend more time in the game. At least that’s the rumblings I’ve heard. I don’t know how many people really know how the payment structure works. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #11 macplash, Oct 1, 2019 Last edited: Oct 1, 2019 Let me help you here. It’s nothing new. Blueprints 3D is like 8 years old concept. Shadowmatic is “only” 4-5, still fairly similar. Point being, they’re both better actually. I’m kinda disappointed by this game. It has potential, but it’s too short. I finished it in one sitting, probably in like 75 minutes. And I didn’t skip a single cutscene. There’s no challenge in here. Sometimes there’s so many objects in the scene it solves itself just by starting moving around. I didn’t care for the story either. So dad works hard to provide for his family so they can afford stuff, hence the title, but is pictured as someone who only pays attention to work and neglect his family. Judging by the uplifting music in last few stages I assume everything turned out great for everybody. They have screening room in the basement, pool outside. Artistic gay son is happy I guess. Speaking about music. I can’t remember when was the last time I found the in-game music so annoying and unbearable. Aside from couple of stages in the end it was just painful. Visuals are very nice, controls are responsive and everything moves and feels smoothly. But as I said. Game’s too short to enjoy. Storytelling in form of grayscale cutscenes feels somber and bleak. Music ruins everything. On top of it all there’s no challenge. No replayability whatsoever. Wasted potential. Play it if you’re bored of other games. If you like this kind of puzzles, grab one of those games I mentioned earlier instead. edit: oh yeah, I forgot to mention AR aspect of the game which should provide new perspective and twist into gameplay. Well, it doesn’t. When I’m asked to pick up a well lit floor and tap on it to place the virtual scene, it’s just floating somewhere above instead. So, not for me either. For AR experience I’d pick up literally any other game. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #12 ste86uk, Oct 1, 2019 Some of that seems a bit harsh but I also agree with some of it, the game is pretty easy it’s more of an experience than a game I guess although I still did like it. The cut scenes didn’t do much for me either and yeh I don’t know what it was trying to say but just seemed like the guy was always working and ignoring his family. I’m glad I played it, it didn’t cost me anything and I’d play more if they add more. But I wouldn’t have been happy if I purchased this. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #13 macplash, Oct 1, 2019 Yeah. I'm not in a great mood today so it might be reflected in what I wrote. It's still the truth though. This game was one of those anticipated ones for me. Imagine my surprise when it ended almost sooner than it started. I'm usually OK-ish when the game's shorter than expected provided it's been an emotional ride from start to finish or its strong story-driven experience keeps great taste afterwards. But in this case it was neither. ste86uk likes this. Morbus Iff Well-Known Member Sep 9, 2010 236 33 28 #14 Morbus Iff, Oct 1, 2019 The cutscenes didn't bother me too much. To some degree, it's similar to one of the stories in ASSEMBLE WITH CARE: a dad who works too much and then realizes he has children. Frankly, I think it's an important thing to hammer in again and again, and even if only one male player "gets it", it's a win. I occasionally find myself wanting to play "one more level" or yes "work a little longer" when my own kids are yelling at me to play with them instead. Fatherhood is important and I fail at it every day. With that said, POSSESSIONS wins the beloved and oft-awarded "useless use of AR" trophy. Who wants to play the entire game standing up and circling like a moron? Not this dad. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #15 macplash, Oct 1, 2019 LOL... touché! Morbus Iff Well-Known Member Sep 9, 2010 236 33 28 #16 Morbus Iff, Oct 1, 2019 Anyone know what the hidden achievements are? I’ll be happy to do without more unless something new is thrown into the mix. Worth a play through if you’ve got a boring hour or so to dispose of. Georgina Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Jan 30, 2010 361 7 18 Sydney #18 Georgina, Oct 23, 2019 Yeah, this one was a fizzer for me. Dull gameplay interspersed with awkward cut-scenes.
