It has great characters. Presentation is top-notch. Controls are responsive. Everything’s smooth, physics and movement is flawless. Sounds and music is all this game’s about. It’s pretty neat. BUT! Why the hell do I have to lose coins whenever I fail to avoid a spike or get hit by an enemy etc? It’s ridiculous! Those sounds effects in shop costs a lot of coins. How am I suppose to afford them if I lose all of ‘em throughout a level? And those levels are not easy! From the visuals and overall theme I’d expect to be aimed at younger audiences, but with this difficulty and such mechanics, I just don’t get it. I’m not gonna lie, I’m pretty frustrated right now. I worked hard for those coins and for what? just so they can be taken away from me because of stupid torpedos in last room? So unfair! Barak Well-Known Member Mar 13, 2010 230 4 18 Portland, OR #3 Barak, Nov 1, 2019 This game is super high production value and I am really enjoying it so far. It IS very challenging, so like @macplash said, even though it looks kid-friendly... it isn't. My poor three-year old got very excited and then very frustrated two minutes into it. Picomy Well-Known Member Apr 22, 2011 60 6 8 #4 Picomy, Nov 1, 2019 Great to hear you both are enjoying Monomals We'll look into some of the balancing for our upcoming patch to smooth out some of the difficulty spikes. We'll let you know once the patch is live! @Barak - awesome that your three year old already is into gaming! But to be fair, our target for Monomals was more towards 9 and any age above. Still hope you get some great fun out of it though! macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #5 macplash, Nov 1, 2019 @Picomy oh, I’m enjoying it a lot even though I hate losing those coins. But for now my focus is solely on getting all those guys unlocked and I’m planning to worry about coins later. hopefully when there’s some balancing implemented in that upcoming patch. and since you’re here, aside from giving you my compliments on such polished and hilarious game of yours and thank you for it, I have to ask about those 4 torpedo guys in the end of 3rd level. What exactly is it that kills them for good? I made it through somehow, but ended up chasing the last of those guys for like 10 minutes. Did I miss some explanation during the introductory tutorial? Since it seems there’s eventually gonna be some grinding for coins necessary, I’d like to be sure what to do instead of hoping for something to happen that kills them. Picomy Well-Known Member Apr 22, 2011 60 6 8 #6 Picomy, Nov 1, 2019 Thank you kindly for the heartwarming comment, macplash! Regarding the ninja beluga's: Once they are in their attack (torpedo) mode, only a solid wall wil stop 'em! So be sure to move those big blocks in their pathway which will definitely help. Then be sure to take them out quickly before they recover. Hope that helps! macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #7 macplash, Nov 1, 2019 @Picomy OH! So that’s the trick! I didn’t realize I’m supposed to hit them while they’re unconscious. I was just hiding and dodging in hopes they hit the wall multiple times which eventually kills them for good. Definitely a great hint. Thank you! Though the upcoming patch will show the correct button layout for the Playstation controller. For the short time being I’d recommend playing with an MFi or Xbox controller. @Barak that would be our ultimate goal, get the young ones into music! We tried to make the Monomaker (composer) really easy to understand, but at the same time offer enough depth for the more experienced musicians. Also, we can’t wait to add the online music sharing feature soon! That will be a great way to inspire other players or get inspired by downloading the full compositions (yes, you can also change them to your liking) Couple of ‘hidden’ features / tips for you: • Shake a note that is longer than 2 steps to add a vibrato. Great for accents on your melodies! • When making notes longer, you can also drag them down and upwards, creating glides. • If you catch the second Monomal (Hi-Hat) place them on every step for 1 measure long in the Drum category. Then slide the Drum button to the left and find the “Groove” slider to play with. This makes your rhythms a bit more funky Enjoy! ROGER-NL Well-Known Member May 21, 2012 4,030 340 83 Male Gamer. A few questions and suggestions: 1. Running on iPhone 8 Plus and I was getting frame rate drops consultancy. Perhaps it can be ironed out in future updates? 2. Are there only 7 levels in total? Or am I missing something? thanks. Picomy Well-Known Member Apr 22, 2011 60 6 8 #15 Picomy, Nov 3, 2019 1. We’ll continue to improve Monomals across all devices so better performance and better battery life is high on the list for an update very soon! 2. There are 7 Monomals (levels) to catch in each world and there are 3 worlds. More worlds are planned in the future! @macplash you can already add vibrato on longer notes. The vibrato effect in the shop is a ‘master’ effect on Drum, Bass or Lead. Hope that explains it for you. drunk_vader likes this. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #16 macplash, Nov 3, 2019 @Picomy sure, thanks! I didn’t get too much into composing aspect of the game because I’m having hard time progressing through the collecting phase. But I guess finding the right balance for the difficulty is tricky. Especially if there’s just one difficulty for everyone. Some will find it perhaps too casual. Some, on the other hand, might have difficulty finishing the 3rd level already. So, I’m not gonna lie, I’m struggling. But I’m not giving up on it just yet.
