Apart from that I’m finding the game to be quite good, and I can recommend to at least give it a go, though I do wish it was a real premium game. stubbieoz Well-Known Member Jun 23, 2015 1,880 358 83 Male Grey haired gamer NSW Australia #7 stubbieoz, Aug 17, 2019 Honestly guys, give this one a go. I know a lot will be turned off by it’s monetary system... free with iap’s.... but there is a damn fine tactical turn based rpg to be had here. And it feels like a premium game in it’s gameplay. I have been playing the single player campaign for some 8hrs now and have only uncovered 16% of the campaign. The campaign is actually pretty good. I have spent probably an hour in pvp (its AI controlled pvp, not against real peeps) which gives you rewards and I have joined a clan simply to get some extra single player reward quests (thats all clans are for... no raids or anything). I have so far bought the Premium package for $5 and a one off “special” package for $2. Both gave me a couple of nice cards and a few gems and some other stuff that I forget now, but I did not regard either of the purchases as necessary to keep playing. I primarily only bought them as a bit of money to the devs (a small company) and the game is really polished and is holding my interest more than I thought it would. So seven bucks for a whole heap of gaming and not getting bored yet is pretty good for me. If you have any interest in turn based combat It’s worth the free download... trust me. I bought the premium but I really don't think it's necessary. Battles definitely get harder but I don't feel that there's a paywall. Roger the Alien Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2017 183 29 28 Germany #10 Roger the Alien, Aug 23, 2019 Is it possible to get all characters, cards, whatever without spending money for currencies/IAP and without playing with real people? I think that I read an article at pockettactics and there was written that some cards can be just owned if a certain online rank is reached, I am not sure about this. This game seems really interesting but I am waiting for more impressions from other players. I am having a great time so far!!! I still wish this would be a premium game, I would‘ve paid quite some money. EDIT: Is the dirty trick card of the archer bugged? If I use it, the enemy still moves more than 1 tile on its turn. stubbieoz Well-Known Member Jun 23, 2015 1,880 358 83 Male Grey haired gamer NSW Australia #12 stubbieoz, Aug 23, 2019 I too wish this was a totally premium game, but I think I understand why I believe the devs have taken the monetary path they have taken and I can accept it. Warning - self indulgence to follow. My general comments about the game not being premium. Go straight to the last paragraph to get an answer for Dirty Tricks; 1. Devs that release premium games on mobile have an uphill battle trying to make the game profitable. Unless they are a well known company and gets loads of exposure they really struggle to compete with the big freemium games. 2. I can accept the way the iap’s are implemented in this game. They are not in your face and while I’m not saying you need to buy them, I am always thinking I might flick another couple of bucks to the game to get a card that looks really good for my teams strategy. And because I am having a great time playing I don’t mind spending some on this game rather than buying a game that doesn’t live up to the hype for me. 3. It’s because of these iap’s the game is pretty much restricted to the mobile player base. I believe there is no way a game like this with its iap’s and “mobile feel” will make it to pc. That for me is good as I am fed up with developers that release a game on mobile, then pc, then abandon the mobile version and keep updating the pc version. 4. I was always concerned that games like this (online server and iap’s) would one day close down and all my money and effort would be gone. After many years I now know that any iOS game is at the mercy of being made obsolete by Apple and it’s iOS updates, or being removed by the dev for whatever reason, so I look at all iOS games as a temporary situation. Sorry for the wall of text. Back to staying on topic. The dirty trick is working for me. Check the battle log(when in combat, top lhs, third icon down). Sometimes the enemy will play a card after your dirty trick that gives them an extra move or sprint. That will allow them to move more than one square. You can do the same if your character gets restricted to one move. Gwarmaxx and Roger the Alien like this. I am still not sure what this card is about. If I am in close combat, after using it/attacking my movement will be reduced and I can‘t really flee. I thought this card is about attacking an retreating... I think this game has a lot of potential! As far as I can see all ability cards can be crafted, but most gear cards can be just obtained from card packs. Is my assumption correct? It would be hilarious trying to get all of them as you‘d need to invest a high amount of money. One last question: After gaining the priest shouldn‘t I get the achievement for recruiting 4 party members or am I missing something? I don’t believe it’s intent is to attack and flee, but rather attack and cripple. I use it when a melee enemy is becoming dangerous to a wizard or healer. My ranger usually has enough hp to withstand a couple of melee hits, letting my squishies run away out of melee range. Gear cards; I have obtained most of my gear cards from drops. I agree that there are a lot of gear cards in card packs but note; The specs shown are for rare and elite equipment, which your percentage chance of getting is rather low. Also I think the game is more about what and how many ability cards you have on your team members and how their synergy works with each other. While the gear cards are nice I don’t feel they have as much importance as other factors. Side note; The ones you can craft are very limited. I am wondering if the selection changes as you level up or something similar happens. Recruiting Achievement; I currently have five so I am unable to check but if you are referring to The Dirty Dozen Achievement then that changes. It starts at 4 and then says 8 till finally (I assume) 12 characters. Is your achievement now saying you need 8? If so then thats correct and you should have received gold coins as a reward for the first star. If not then I am at a loss.
