Has anyone decided to put a screen protector on their 3gs?
Ive gotten a few very fine scratches on my screen but i cant imagine putting a screen protector over the magical new screen that wipes clean so easily...

I heard that a screen protector on a 3GS could take away the oil-phobic screen. Not sure if it is true though.

yeah, it will...thats sort of my question....are people more concerned with scratching their screen or having the convenience of the oliophobic(sp?) screen

After ruining the screen on my 1st gen iphone, there was no way I was going to go without a screen protector on my 3gs. I bought the Power Support anti-glare screen protector - It sticks by static cling - I put the screen on immediately after I took the 3GS out of the box and just took it off yesterday to see if it had affected the oleophobic screen at all (it didn't).

If you're wanting to put a screen on the phone (which I highly suggest doing), I would go with the Power Support ones, they are a little more expensive ($15) but they work great

hmm I put a screen protector on my first gen. but almost everyone else I know didn't, yet their screens are still flawless. I decided not to put one on my new 3GS, but who knows. better safe than sorry I guess

I just got a 3GS two days ago and purchased a ZAGG Invisible Shield along with it. However, I haven't put it on yet as i love the feel of the glass. Should I put it on?

the power support anti glare makes the screen look worse tho. If u take it off after about 6 months, u wont believe the difference. The screen will look so clear and colorful and bright.

I would never put a screen protector on my iPhone! I kicked around the iPhone 3g in my pocket every day with no problems ... now I have the 3gs and I'm doing the same. I believe that Apple went through a lot of trouble to create the scratch free screen and unless you really think you're going to abuse it (big time) ... leave it alone. I should add that I do have a little LowePro pouch that I keep my iPhone it while it's in my pocket ... easy to take out when the phone rings and it does keep it protected from keys and other sharp objects.

yes they developed a surface that doesn't hold oils so a simple wipe on your jeans cleans it spotless

Gosh, why didn't they make that with the 1st gen iPhones? It's such a pain wiping my screen over and over. Oh well, I'm hoping to get a 3GS in a few months.

I've been using the antiglare screen from Power Support - The Power Support brand sold me due to its "sticking mechanism" is static. You can clean the back of them, and reuse.

However, the antiglare - which is great out doors - does degrade the image somewhat. It does have some tactile feedback though, so you can sense tiny movements on the screen with your finger. I am paranoid about scratches, but if in a few months people are remarking that they don't have problems, I will probably take it off.

Afterall, we all get new phones every year or two, right? (My last one lasted me 4 years).. but I only wanted a phone - no extras.
