I'm assuming you want something primarily as a gaming device... what do you own already (iDevice/consoles etc)?
I got a ipod touch 2g 8gb a dsi and a wii btw what dos everyone mean by the ipod touch 4gen may have a a4 chip what is a a4 chip
Wow really? Not to be a troll but how is anyone gonna influence you to make a choice on something that doesn't even have a spec list yet. It's like asking android 2 or iPhone 5? I hope you make the right decision...(whatever that is). No offense but these threads just seem inane to me when we can't even compare the two devices (yet) & just for lack of information regarding what you want...primary device or multi device?
I don't think it matters what the specs are, we know there are differences in the games and the experiences. If you want cheap, 5-minute, pick up n' play stuff, go for the iPod, if you want deeper games that'll last you 10-30 (roughly, with exceptions) hours go for the 3DS.
I'm putting my vote in for a 3DS mostly because it has Snake Eater and a new Paper Mario for launch titles. Needless to say, I'll be getting one myself.
I think Capcom said it was doubtful that either of their titles (Super Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil) would be available at launch a while ago. To answer the OP, if I was looking from a purely gaming perspective, 3DS to be sure.
The 3ds is probably going to be better for gaming. Being nintendo..they have much better support from major 3rd party developers. The graphics on the 3ds look amazing!! So overall..the 3ds will(in my opinion) have a much better gaming experience. I would go with the 3ds.
He's probably thinking Droid 2, another addition to the confusing marketing scheme of refreshing Motorola's line-up every two months. But 3DS all the way, guy. I'd honestly go for both if I could (I'm sticking with my 3rd gen, though, so it's less financially-taxing) since one is primarily gaming and the other an all-in-one with watered down games.
I say 3DS because the no glasses 3D is going to turn the industry upside down, and you'll be part of that. And the DS is just a great piece of gaming, because it is so versitle with 2 screens, touch input, and controller input. The iPod has nothing groundbreaking anymore, just a great timekiller/pocket computer. If you can spare the money get a 3g touch 32gig when its cheaper for the multitasking as well. But if you just need the mail/safari features + the timekilling, just stick with your current touch.
I have been thinking the same thing, but I'm getting a 3ds as well. I new ipod won't do much for me besides memory, but the 3ds looks amazing and has a cool arsenal of games coming out (ocarina of time remake ftw!).
I don't really consider the 3D tech to be all that great to be honest. The demand for 3D TVs isn't exactly soaring and most people don't really care whether or not they see a movie in 3D at the cinema. I suppose the lack of glasses is kind of cool, only it comes with new restrictions, so it's not totally amazing. Plus at the end of the day it's still just an effect, bad games will still be bad and good games would have been just as good on a 2D screen. Then after you've played 20 or so games the effect likely won't astound you anymore. That said, the device itself is cool and the games it's pushing are awesome.
3d tv just aint there yet.. maybe in 10 years it maybe.. but now nope.. its the tv makers pushing this 3d stuff.. not the consumer from what i can tell and all the reviews iv read before i bought my new tv last weekend.. i went with a 52" Sony LED bravia.. nice tv. chris.
I'm kind of excited to see what everyone thinks of the 3DS once more people have it in their hands. I kind of think the overwhelmingly positive reception the 3DS saw at E3 was typical "OMG NEW HARDWARE!!!" syndrome that most of the gaming press falls in to.
