So I downloaded this new game called 3D World cause its only $0.99 (plus sales tax). It a entertainment game and it's built using the Unity game engine. It looks very similar to paper pilot for those that have it. I think what is unique about this game is that it lets you explore an abandoned warehouse with great lighting effects and outstanding visuals. To me this is more of a tech demo of where the iphone unity engine will be taking games and hopefully FPS in 2009.

It runs very smooth and no frame rate hiccups that I can notice and I've been messing around with it for 15 mins

I will say that the touch controls are implemented great with two analog sticks and the ability to tap anywhere on screen.

This app isn't from the developers of "paper pilot" ??????:confused:
How is the app? How many rooms/levels has it got?

Looks interesting, but is there any substance or longevity to it?

I've only been messing around with it for 20 mins or so, but the entertainment game seems pretty large. I haven't really seen if anything can be picked-up or if you can minipulate(spelled wrong) the environment your in. However, the character is affected if he/she walks into a pillar in rooms it slows the speed down of moving until you clear it (hope that makes sense).

Certainly looks great - would love to see some proper games use that engine.

iirc, there was a minor controversy with Paper Pilot. Paper Pilot uses some assets from a demo bundled with the Unity game engine (or so was said by others). The Paper Pilot developers modified the assets from that demo a bit and released it as their game. This app seems to use the same exact demo assets as its foundation. That's why the two look so similar.

Well, worth the price ... it's cheap, but I think it's not worth the price.
The same objects are repeated a lot of time, so I don't see what to discover exactly.
There are 5 or 6 rooms, but nothing special nor animation except the treadmill and the air cooling.
Maybe I am missing something, but it's only a small 3D demo for me, nothing else.

My fault ... English is not my mother language (I'm from Belgium, used to speak english but mostly about computers ;))

I have paid 1 buck for this application, but I removed 5 minutes after exploring the rooms. Except for the tech demo, if I knew I won't have payed for it.
