Currently the character in the character creation screen is not facing the camera or in the right place. (Chrome+IE) EDIT: It is also possible to jump up onto the edge of the map with super jump.
Thanks for that report about the char creation! Ah yes, that would be a problem now that you can jump up over the edge! Time for some world limits...
Good point, I'll add some pics in the first post. It *is* after-my-day-job, everyone on the team is working in their spare time, we're an Indie group.
The problems described here have been fixed and uploaded, also a new bug with attacking Shnarp.. (the screen went black) has also been fixed. Still need to add some world limits for the suicidal types Thanks for the continual testing!
Added a new 'world limit' for the physics to use. You shouldn't be able to move out of a 'good' area (one that has something under your feet somewhere). So no more jumping off the map!
I'm finially starting to get used to the controls! Very impressive , keep up the work man! So how's the mapping going? Created any new maps yet besides the dungeon xD?
Not yet. The engine was updated, so I'm going back through and figuring out what the new optimal settings are. I may start by redoing the forest to be significantly bigger. The test zone I'm running is about twice as big in each direction. It feels a lot better. Once the new forest is ready, I'll need to place stiff in the dungeon so it isn't empty. After that, I'm thinking a town zone where you'll start out, get quests, do crafting, etc. After that, maybe snowy mountains...
This has been an off-and-on problem for awhile, it usually gets solved by refreshing/restarting the page. However I just made some changes that I hope will help. Let me know in general if you can connect more often!
Yea man I hear yea there.. but im saying no reason it has to have that blog-update indie style also Ive been interested in this for awhile but best I saw was some wire-frame, so it would be nice to get an easy update for interested customers.. all positive feedback (nothing wrong with that for me, but in general it is nicer to have a nice media friendly front)
Only one: a sword pickup which is near the drop point for the zone you can get to by clicking on the shimmering mushroom on the bonfire hill!
I really like the whole idea around holding the jump button down to charge. And how you can control where your goin in mid air instead of only being able to jump I'm the direction you left the ground. Although you should consider a meter so we know when we reach our max jump charge. I could see that being a cool part of combat but you will definately have to have it's ups and downs like if your wearing heavy armour you can't jump nearly as high as someone in robes.
We're not only considering a meter, but there is going to be a jump *skill* also, if there isn't already.
Dave joined us for the Multiplaying Podcast this week, and we got to talk a lot about DangerLands. Check it out at: http://www.multiplaying.net/2010/01/18/multiplaying-020-01-15-10/ --Todd
a question on the housing will you be suppling building blocks so users can make custom housing, or going with premade housing that users will choice between? p.s. death to shnarp....that is all
Good question! We will all be able to build our own zones with multiple buildings in them, so this goes way above and beyond traditional housing options. Eventually I foresee being able to build and decorate a house, but when the option for buildings are first presented, they will almost definitely need to be prefab. I'm big into house/area customization (I made a whole project around it in '08) so this is something that is meaningful to me. As an aside, to see some of that old project, check out some of the links here marked 'OLD' http://www.cubekind.com/video.html
so will this game be on the ipod soon or what? i havent been following this much these days so i was just looking n for an update.
