As it is currently planned, your skills will go up naturally as you use them, so you can just play and have fun, and you'll grow. No need to kill 1000 gerbils to grind out exp just to be able to kill 1000 Large Gerbils to get the next level (where you'll kill 1000 Giant Gerbils).
is it too early to ask about a price model? Will it be subscription based or will you have to pay to level up and what noT?
The iPhone version will have a pricetag upfront but the other platforms will be free to play. There will be premium content available to purchase and probably a premium subscription available if one is needed and there is a business demand for it. You will pay thirty dollars per experience point made on leap year or during bathroom breaks.
LOL @ that last part. And thanks for the quick answer. By "premium content" you DONT mean that it will be like certain other MMO's where people that pay the most money will have the best character right? And I dont mean paying the most money through a subscription, thats completely awesome with me, Im mainly referring to being able to buy " Bonus" xp or skills or something like that. In which case someone brand new to the game could drop 100 dollars on premium content and be ahead of someone that has been playing for a long time. Not fun. But wev all seen that type of game before, havent we iphone gamers.
OK I identified a new problem with the game in Chrome today and don't have a solution yet. Thanks for the feedback, glad you could make a guy
We're well aware of the sensitive issues that often are associated with premium content and will be very careful to listen to feedback and choose things which make sense. When done right, these are the things people would ask for if they could, but don't NEED to play the game. Things the player needs to play the game should be given to them. Right now many of those things seem like they will be involved in creating your own area(s). Buying your way to 'pwnership' isn't cool in anyone's book.
yes, this man called daveyoung made an awesome iphone/PC/Mac game...here is an open beta look: http://www.daveyounggames.com/dangerlands/DangerLandsWIP.php good luck dont use chrome EDT: what am i supposed to do?!?!
Just walk around and explore, it's LIVEDev, meaning we're in the middle of working on it, and you can see day by day how things change
At this point, the fun is in helping us shape the game and in seeing how these games come together. So explore and look for bugs. Soon we'll be able to fight with each other, and there will be more to do.
