Please post any test issues over on our forums so that the team can find them easily. kugi_igi, if you click Cancel, then Offline, can you walk around?
downloading now - lets see how it runs on my hp pavilion laptop. its not a powerhouse computer but it gets the job done. update: I got it running, created my character but can't connect to the server. I don't know if Dave has turned it off or not. I went into offline mode and ran around for awhile. Seems like a lot of work to be done but tremendous potential. I hope it continues to progress so I can keep testing it
As luck has it, we are already experiencing various server connection issues, so I'm going to put up a very simple multiplayer test template to establish a working baseline today. I do mean simple! I need to figure out if it's the server configuration or the tech itself which is loaning us problems. Fun! Like I promised... The existing DangerLands client and server will stay up during this baseline testing.
It works running bootcamp on my mac. But I wanna run it on my mac. Please hurry with the mac download. Also is the team looking at my forum account problem? Is that also the account that I will log into the game with?
Here is a very basic test of client/server communications, using a barebones project. There are *no* game specific elements here whatsoever. PC version - 4MB Mac version - 5MB
The admin said he has manually activated your account, and the account is not linked to your ingame account.
Made an account and ran around. Looking quiet nice. However i have been unable to connect to the MultiplayerTest.
Do you mean that you haven't been able to connect with the small (new) test, or with the original full DangerLands client test? Please let us know here: http://www.dangerlands.com/ Thanks
To make things a bit easier, here is a web version. (Should only need to install the player once) http://www.daveyounggames.com/dangerlands/DangerLandsWIP.html
So where do we make our ingame account. I didn't see an option to creat one in the windows version. Still no mac os x one yet?
We were having problems off the bat so we put up a very basic multiplayer test (see other post for web version) and I didn't bother exporting a mac version for the original DangerLands client test. There are web/pc/mac versions if the simple test. The web version should run for you. Don't worry about accounts etc just yet, just getting client/server stuff squared away in as basic a way as is possible.
I was able to connect with the full client (the first one you posted), however when i tried to run the 2nd one you posted (the small new test) it crashed. EDIT: I tried the web version too. I put my name and hit connect and it shows the Please Wait... screen then goes back to the initial one (the one with the name, etc.) EDIT2: Nvm, i refreshed and i could connect fine. However, if i enable VoIP each time i connect the game will crash.
I would like to test dangerlands: Nvidia 8900 Dual Core Intel Windows 7 Send me a mail: [email protected]
Hey plucksch, check out this thread for all the info you need to start testing. It is also the preferred place for feedback. Thanks! http://www.dangerlands.com/index.php?option=com_ccboard&view=postlist&forum=2&topic=6&Itemid=2
A newer build is available, see the forum for details. Thanks to everyone for helping us test out the networking, there's a lot of little gotchas still remaining.
We're going to do a test tonight at 11PM EST, and another tomorrow at 8PM EST. Anyone who can make it, please do! http://www.daveyounggames.com/dangerlands/dangerlandswip.php
