How does it work? Does it require the internet to figure out north or have you devised some ingenius way for it to figure out north without internet?
No internet required! No GPS required! It just use the build-in digital compass and accelerometer to figure out the 3D position of the device and it will display only the magnetic north. So, this application only works on iPhone 3GS now. By using the cutting edge signal processing and graphic technique, it has both smooth motion flow and quick reaction. I don't see any reason why this can't become the #1 3D compass app, and even the #1 compass app in general. I for one just wanted a simple clean compass app, and Apple provided a pretty good version, but it was fatally flawed because you have to hold your phone perfectly level for it to function. I have to say it is very satisfying to use the compass and have it float in 3D and not be constrained by one plane. I think it would be worth checking out similar apps' reviews to see what their flaws were, and then get an update out that addresses them, if any. wat kind of ideas do you have for the ultra virtual reality with awesome graphics? A game? A map? World Domination?
Currently I'm planning some small entertainment applications by using VR tech through build-in 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis geomagnetic sensor of 3GS. And awesome graphics by employ full screen anti-aliasing tech. I'm also planning small games and even map applications using these technology. 3GS give us new possibility and opportunity for great applications!
