3D Checkers is American Checkers for the board game enthusiast. With intuitive drag-and-drop gameplay, an immersive 3D perspective, and beautiful board designs, this ain't your typical checkers app!

    Featuring:
    • Two play modes (player versus player and player versus computer)
    • Two AI difficulty levels, and
    • Two beautiful board designs!

I think the best part is the dev plans to update with peer-to-peer support :D

I posted in the other thread, but I'll also mention here that I think this is a excellent checkers game, and it's free! The interface is, in my opinion, very sleek and polished (which is pretty important to me for some reason).

    Thanks for the great feedback!

    Thanks all!

Started working on peer to peer today at the WWDC labs... GameKit rules! Will need peer-to-peer beta testers soon.

Also I'm thinking about holding a "checkers board design competition" with the coolest board to be released in an upcoming update. Please send email to koduco at gmail.com if interested in participating!

What a great checker game! The two difficulty modes as well as two player make this great. I like zoom in when you tap on a piece, and board choices are a nice addition. Any plans to add sound?

I have an iPod 1G, thus I can't install it.
Apple made a terrible choice with that dropdown menu for selecting device compatibility. There's no difference from the 1G and 2G iPod except a speaker, a button, and processing speed.
Hope that gets changed soon. I downloaded it for now and I patiently wait. :)

I'll have this fixed in the next update. Apple appears to agree with you, it looks like they have removed this option.

This game is great. Only complaint is that because of the way the board is set, my finger gets in the way too much and it sometimes causes mistakes. Maybe it's just me and my fat fingers, either way it's great and it replaced the checkers game I had before.

I've been trying to look for a good checkers app for a while and this just might be the one. And best of all, it's free so I won't regret anything if I get it.

How is the AI engine? Has anyone won a game on difficult?

I have tCheckers, and the AI is incredibly obnoxious and unrealistic. At a certain point, it will insist on moving back and forth between two squares until you're forced to intentionally lose (or just quit, I guess) if you don't want the game to last FOREVER. Yeah, it makes games challenging, but it's unrealistic that your opponent would never take a risk.

Anyway, I know this is free, but I need to delete something to add something, so I thought I'd inquire first.

Also, did I see that there are no sounds? Are there ads?

    Thanks.

    Hiya, developer here.

The AI in my game is not too difficult. It was designed with the novice checkers player in mind.

There are no sounds in the game currently.

    There are also no ads.

    Thanks!
