I’m able to play the opening tutorial but once you go into town, recruit a hero, then go to start a mission, the game won’t let you choose your heroes. You can see the slots where you can choose up to three heroes, but when you click on them absolutely nothing happens, thus you can’t do anything beyond the tutorial. Very disappointing as this looks promising. I’m on an iPhone XR with the latest iOS. Please fix. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 703 113 #8 anthony78, Jun 7, 2019 Works for me on my iPhone X. Just need to click on the characters themselves. Not the slots. Loving the game so far. Nails the old school feel. Nice digestible chunks for quests. Controls well. Just a great fit for mobile overall. The implementation feels clunky, as if originally designed to be played with a mouse. The isometric perspective makes touchscreen navigation and targeting kind of a chore. And while the pixel art is nice, the height of the characters further complicates targeting already burdened by the perspective. Also not a fan of its Zelda-like room navigation, a big departure from the seamless layouts of the classic board game. It’s obvious a lot of love was put into the game, but that’s not enough as I’m just not finding it enjoyable. BaronMunchausen Well-Known Member Feb 22, 2017 57 13 8 #10 BaronMunchausen, Jun 8, 2019 I’d click on a character if one were to appear. However, they do not. BaronMunchausen Well-Known Member Feb 22, 2017 57 13 8 #12 BaronMunchausen, Jun 8, 2019 It won’t even allow me to choose one. It’s just completely dead in the water. It’s alright, but I’m not feeling any skill or much variety after an hour or so of play. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 703 113 #14 anthony78, Jun 8, 2019 Last edited: Jun 8, 2019 Still enjoying it here. Guess I fall into the same category as the 82% of Steam users that gave it a positive review. I may come at it from a different perspective not having had the Hero’s Quest board game. Also note that the description says “inspired by” - not a clone of. So don’t think it’s fair to judge the game as being meant to be exactly like it. It’s a fun little dungeon crawler with lots of skills, potions and spells with some interesting effects. Some can only be used once in quest which means you have to use strategy to decide when best to use it. Use it too early and hit a room with strong or multiple enemies and you can easily die. It can get quite challenging. Like the variety in missions as well and how they require different numbers of characters. This adds to replayability to try different combinations. The central town and how it works reminds me a bit of Darkest Dungeon (though the rest of the game does not). It’s still overall a simple game yet has enough variety and challenge to keep me hooked. Works perfectly with touch controls (at least on my iPhone X). Not sure I understand the complaints about the isometric perspective. I have no issues selecting squares to move to. Seems a good fit for touch. I have more in-depth complex RPGs with sprawling stories to play but this one is a lovely game to play in short bursts. stubbieoz, Son of Anarchy, sakara214ever and 1 other person like this. argibaltzi Member Apr 17, 2013 23 4 3 http://www.brainseal.com #15 argibaltzi, Jun 13, 2019 @BaronMunchausen If you still having a problem, can you send us an email to go through it? In the assemble party screen simply tap on the barbarian icon on the far right of the screen for him to become active. You can also recruit another hero in the tavern. Do you not see the barbarian icon on the right? rangent likes this. BaronMunchausen Well-Known Member Feb 22, 2017 57 13 8 #16 BaronMunchausen, Jun 13, 2019 Boy, that wasn’t too obvious. Sorry, guys. I have the Steam version but always felt this game would suit a mobile device perfect. We will see. Edit: Game plays exactly like the Steam version so far, so my suggestion is head over there for players reviews and discussions to get a feeling if this is a game you might like, rather than buying it first and then not liking it. Regarding the mobile version - I play on a large iPad Pro and it looks and controls perfectly (also on an iPhone 8 Plus). Simple tap or double tap handles everything. The Steam version was totally playable with mouse only so tap to play is easily substituted. My only gripe is not having seperate audio slider controls for music, sound effects and footsteps. Instead they have seperate on/off options. The music tends to drown out the other audio but the music really adds to the atmosphere. If there was a slider to lower the music level somewhat it would be perfect. Edit again: The Steam version actually has sliders. A real shame it was thought by the developer as unnecessary in the mobile version. Oh, almost forgot. No icloud saving as well. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 703 113 #18 anthony78, Jun 13, 2019 Think that’s what I was trying to say before but guess I wasn’t clear enough. If a character dies in a dungeon you can resurrect them in the graveyard for 20% of your current gold. So always spend as much as you can on potions, blacksmith, brothel, before resurrecting. Hopefully it's updated to fix some minor non-game breaking things I've noticed. Playing on a 1st gen 13" iPad Pro: - When you increase the Barbarian's skills, whatever he is saying is showing up to his left, cut off by the edge of the screen, so I have no idea what it is. - On the "town" screen, to the far left you can see part of the game's title, but not the whole thing. - Scrolling the "town" screen left and right jumps to set spots instead of being free scrolling for some reason, making the tavern a bit annoying to tap on, since it'll be either at the left extreme edge or the right extreme edge. --- A tip: Each character can hold up to two potions, and they cannot share between them. So if you want to be able to heal a character, make sure they start the level with at least one potion. --- It would be nice if you didn't have to double-tap to change characters. A single tap on the character should be enough, unless there's some reason I'm not seeing for requiring two taps. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
