I think if PC and iPhone must use same one network, then why should anyone bother to play on small screens? I would rather play on my PC instead. Said the speed was 15 GB which i thought would be fine but the one game i tried was very laggy. Has potential though. And yeah you could have a laptop But i love my phone being a 'swiss army knife' of so many apps and utils and being able to do everything from one device. When you first set it up you can choose on screen controls. I used these to select my game, but once the game started these controls didnt work and instead if i touched the screen elsewhere i could go left/right etc Worth a try to see how it works for you anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #11 anthony78, May 16, 2019 You can use any mfi controller. Also supports touch controls. Works perfectly with my Steelseries controller and my Apple TV. Need to give the touch controls a shot on my phone later. PBSNellie Well-Known Member Jul 7, 2013 1,381 168 63 Southern CA #12 PBSNellie, May 16, 2019 I have a Steam controller but you don't need it for this to work. I believe you need the Steam link (little box that connects everything) for it to work. But if you have a Steam account and the Steam software on your computer, I would try that before buying any additional hardware. I think the Steam link is pretty inexpensive, around 50.00 or maybe even less. skoptic Well-Known Member Apr 3, 2015 634 82 28 #13 skoptic, May 16, 2019 I’m 99% sure you do not need the steam link hardware. Skall Well-Known Member Oct 25, 2009 500 60 28 #14 Skall, May 16, 2019 I have both ie steam link and controller but i dont use them. I just use the app and my nimbus and that works very well. Have connected a steam controller to it already. I bought mine for gaming plus work. 15”, nearly-maxed-out, Vega 20 MacBook Pro. I could do as you suggest. But it’s a fat chunk of hot metal with a blaring fan. Far better for desktop. And the battery life - despite adverts to the contrary - is questionable when unplugged, and for gaming purposes. stlredbird Well-Known Member May 21, 2009 1,354 0 36 #19 stlredbird, May 16, 2019 So just installed and did some quick playing around. I hate the mfi controllers and love the xbone controller. So up until now i have been streaming games via Moonlight and steams big picture mode while using a bt xbone controller connected to my PC as my pc is in a place where bluetooth can reach anywhere i would play, mainly bedroom and living room. So i was worried this app would force me to use my dusty mfi controller. But good news, you can just select no controller and just basically use it as a desktop mirror and use the bt controller paired with your pc. I certainly understand people not finding this appealing. On a smaller screen i understand but in my 12.9 ipad it works great. Have played thru several steam games on it including just finishing the new tomb raider from the comfort of my bed. I saw one person post that they would wait for the switch version. That will never ever ever ever ever happen. Though that would be a dream. Anyway, this takes some of the steps and at times instability out of my old method so its a welcome turn of events for me. Quoad Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2015 1,108 217 63 #20 Quoad, May 16, 2019 Orly? :hmm: Well, that is rayt interesting! The new tomb raider is one of the games I bought to push my new MacBook. But I’m rarely at my desk without working for long enough to play it. New powerline WiFi kit arriving tomorrow. If latency is sufficiently low for tomb raider to be functional, this is exceedingly good news. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
