Remove ads: $4 2. 2 iAP-only bonus characters: $4*2 3. EXP boost: $4 (could turn on/off by yourself) 4. Item insurance: $4 (recover your equipments after you died) 5. Storage upgrade: $1/times (could upgrade 4 times the most) Game is good though, just give it a try since it is free. Though I'm not fond of "speed run" games since I like to take my time to think of the best actions (which is why I love RPGs in the first place). stubbieoz likes this. Now there is expedition ticket and extra characters. 2 tickets and 11 tickets are $1 and $5, respectively, and each new character is $4. I'm wondering whether these characters are unlockable in-game if you make it past a certain point with the current character. I like the game, it’s a well put together little rogue dungeon crawler. Way too many iap’s for me though. I tried to work out what I’d have to buy to turn it ‘premium’ and couldn’t. I nearly needed to take an advanced math class just to add everything up. adin likes this. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #6 anthony78, May 9, 2019 Wonder how playable this is if you just remove ads. I really like what I’ve played and always am looking for portrait RPGs. I would guess you can just play with the character they give you. Not sure if the expedition tickets are needed or the other IAPs. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #7 L.Lawliet, May 9, 2019 Yeah I'm in the same boat as you. I'm loving it. Simple but beautiful. The graphics are gorgeous as well. I'm inclined to just buy the ad removal but I'm wondering if there's a hidden pay wall or huge difficulty spike later on that needs other IAP. TheSilveryWolf Well-Known Member Dec 1, 2015 143 14 18 #13 TheSilveryWolf, May 10, 2019 Impressions: Video ads are optional to speed up "expeditions". Two of three expeditions are locked behind a paywall. I haven't figured out the point of expeditions. I have yet to see a video ad that isn't optional. Banner ads are constant though. you actually can buy characters using in-game currency. It just costs 100,000 gold, which doesn't seem very easy to come by, but then again, I'm still a beginner so perhaps it speeds up later on. Characters do not just differentiate by design, different characters also have different perks. They're a bit expensive at $4 or $5 each. But they're characters, something designed to be earned in the long run. The first character is fine for at least a while. However, your first character's inventory is very cramped, which becomes annoying. my favorite part is the aesthetic. Since there are so many dungeon crawlers out there, most of them try to find something that makes them different, and it's usually the sheer amount of loot that is possible to acquire. This game prides itself on its aesthetics instead, as unlike a lot of dungeon crawlers the dungeon environments actually vary by dungeon and it's a display of bright colors and simple but solid animation. The art is more sophisticated than other games of this genre. Art isn't a priority for a lot of people, but it is for me. If I'm going to love a game for a long time, it has to look good first. The music is charming too, as I've said before. It's something else that I don't think a lot of mobile dungeon crawlers take seriously, nor the sound effects, but it's a definite plus This game prides itself on how easy it is to get into, and I would say that's true. Dungeon crawlers aren't complicated in the first place, but the menu system, tutorial, interface, etc. are all clean and straightforward. There's a lot of QoL stuff to help manage and sort your inventory. An enemy can face you from different directions but your attack button doesn't differentiate. You don't have to turn to "face" the enemy, as I expected when I watched the gameplay video. There are traps -- both good and bad -- that you can't see, which definitely spices things up. There's a minimap so navigation is easy. There are interesting mechanics such as throwing weaker items (when you've gotten stronger ones) at enemies instead of simply disposing of them. Throwing a shield, for example, does some damage. There are other interesting quirks too, these aren't the only ones. It's a movement-based game, not an action rpg. For every tile you move, enemies move too. If you don't move, neither do they There's a hunger mechanic. Hunger falls as you move in the dungeon. There is food found naturally in the dungeon and you can replenish yourself on the surface too. Shooting enemies with a bow and arrow does not have automatic aim There's a daily login bonus The developers changed the "no ads" IAP to "premium" instead. But with the optional video ads, I'm wondering if video ads will be turned off completely with the premium IAP or not. Is the video ad option still going to be there? Expedition tickets can be earned in-game. I don't know how often you're given them however. Overall, it's a good find. Since there are so many dungeon crawlers, it's hard to find one that stands out, but this one really does. Especially the art. The one flaw is the first character's three crystal limit. Lull4by Well-Known Member Aug 21, 2014 767 313 63 #14 Lull4by, May 10, 2019 Yes, it seems that you can purchase the first male character by in-game currency, but he is the only one, do you want to play 2 other female characters? just use your credit card! L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #15 L.Lawliet, May 10, 2019 They mention something called bait to use to capture them but I haven't seen any yet. However I did capture a purple slime after killing it a bunch of times. Though I'm not sure if captured creatures can be used in battle. They might only be for a collection. Nonetheless, the game is very aesthetically pleasing so everything is nice to collect / look at. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #16 anthony78, May 10, 2019 Since “premium” only eliminates the banner ads, I’m going to pay for a while and see how it goes before buying it. I can actually live with a banner ad anyway. If there were forced video ads, that would be a different story. But if I really enjoy it and it seems fair, I’ll buy the ad free anyway to support the dev and keep it prettier. So at least from what I see, it’s just pure dungeon crawling with no story? Or does that change? It seems fun enough to play here and there anyway but would have preferred some type of story to go along with it.
