But this is not the end of Daggerhood's story, for this is the beginning. Filled with the desire for freedom and a craving for retribution, Daggerhood has set his sights on stealing the King's gold and armed with a dagger he can throw and reclaim by teleporting to its current position, across 100 levels, he is going to need your help! This single tweak to the action-platformer genre ramps up the difficulty making this an entertaining, hair-pulling, quick-playing diversion. jpgold Well-Known Member Sep 21, 2012 1,818 56 48 Online Ad Sales - Pandora New York, NY #8 jpgold, May 9, 2019 Loving the twist they put on a familiar genre. This could have easily been a straight up platformer, but feels fresh. Has a lot of replayability as you'll go through each level multiple times if you want to acheive everything (speed, treasures, capturing the fairy). Also love that you respawn pretty much immediately after dying. Nice work. Snooptalian Well-Known Member Sep 12, 2009 1,936 8 38 #9 Snooptalian, May 10, 2019 Game looks awesome. Curious though as to why most new Crescent Moon games no longer have any Game Center support at all? This game is prime for achievements and leaderboards... Ghostdog1 Well-Known Member Jan 30, 2015 319 125 43 #10 Ghostdog1, May 11, 2019 I think this game is totaly overrated. I dont like the controls. And the repetitiv puzzle teleport mechanic gets boring after a few levels. Once you master the teleporting, there is not much more to learn in this game. Its just timing and rushing levels. Without a learning curve, such a game is a waste of time IMO. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #11 metalcasket, May 11, 2019 Finding it strange people are having issues with the controls. Woblyware (yes, of League of Evil fame) were amongst the first developers who proved that virtual controls could be perfected on touchscreens and it’s absolutely no different here. They’re the exact same controls we’ve gotten used to over the last decade. Regarding the claim that there’s no learning cure, have you reached the second world? Yes, the teleporting mechanic is still a necessity, but right from the second level in World 2 you’ve got tons being thrown at you. The first few levels of the game do indeed take their time, but you’re thrown in the deep end as you go along. APPSER Well-Known Member Mar 4, 2014 171 9 18 Male #12 APPSER, May 12, 2019 Nice game! As the other poster said Wobblyware know how to do controls. Lots of platformers can get samey (it’s my favourite genre - I have loads of platformers) but I like the different game mechanic in this one. Makes it different But control wise it’s totally fine metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #14 metalcasket, May 16, 2019 I feel like this is totally flying under the radar. Not only is it a return to form for Woblyware after a series of forgettable releases and experimental IAP schemes, but it, by far, surpasses the League of Evil series as their best game. LoE, while fantastic, was basically Super Meat Boy for iOS. This on the other hand is Daggerhood. It’s steeped in familiar mechanics, but is entirely its own game with less stress on making it the hardest game on the planet. Instead, smart level design and relying on bouncing clever mechanics make this so memorable. I’m not even done with the second set of levels (entirely completing them, I mean) and don’t see myself putting this down. It may not be the platformer to end all platformers on iOS, but it’s up there with the best of them.
